    Hi.

the title says it all, I have seen it delivered new for only £6.49

I have read a few reviews, most say it`s rubbish.

    what do you think?

    Thanks

    John.

If you're a Trek Fan you might find it a little bit fun, but it can grow old pretty quick. The space battles can get tiring and the overall gameplay has a little to be desired. But for £6.49 I'd say give it a shot.

I liked it, its a little buggy, but overall pretty fun. There are some interesting mods out there for it as well.

They actually got Avery Brooks to do Siskos voice for the defiant missions which was a big plus for me. Basically if you are Trek fan you will have lots of things to enjoy that will generally outweigh the bad parts, however if your not a big fan, chances are your going to hate it.

I'm a Trek Fan and I hated it. It was over hyped for fans promising Special Weapons and the ability to upgrade your ship over time vs getting a new one once they were available and neither are available.

Keyboard and mouse controls are practically impossible to use. I had to get a 360 gamepad since the game was meant for the consoles which is surprising considering it uses the coding from Star Trek Armada 2.

The only thing positive about the game is the AI is relatively smart when you dispatch a ship somewhere and give it orders since they can take care of themselves. It is also highly moddable. Check out the following page for mods. http://startrek.bethsoft.com/forums/index.php?showforum=1
Star Trek Forums -> Star Trek: Legacy

I quickly became bored of the game after a few weeks. I gave up on the campaign after the 2 or 3rd mission where you have to defend some stupid medical ships since I would always lose one. I started just doing quick battles trying out different ships and finding their strengths and weaknesses.

Yeah, its a shame it didn't live up to original expectations. This game was supposed to dethrone the ancient but highly modded Bridge Commander, but instead turned into a sloppy port-to-pc game.

I remember when it was in the conceptual stages. The lead designers actually particpated in the forums gathering ideas from fans........

I think the price is a good indication of how good (or not) the game is...

Not really, considering the game is a year and a half old.

I believe I tried it on the 360 and hated it. Not a huge ST fan (love TNG though). I just found the game... unplayable.
But I'm not a huge fan of most of the ST games. Only had 2 or 3 I liked since the NES days.
