Not sure why this has recently started, and I'm curious if anyone else has seen this. Basically with Steam running, it somehow starts again and then says "Your steam account is logged in at another location.." etc.. Obviously that's not the case. So I close Steam, try and load it up again, and the same thing happens. The systray icon is gone, but when I looked under processes, it's running. I kill steam32.exe, then re-start it, log in, and all is well..
Not a huge problem, but it is bordering on annoying. I suppose I could uninstall steam and re-install, but I'm curious to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen?

First thought that comes to mind is, are you sure your account isn't logged in elsewhere? I get this message when I have my laptop signed in, and then turn on my netbook and it logs in...
So, does anyone else have your login info? Sounds like they are logging in, and that's why you are getting the message... If you don't know of anyone that has your info, then I'd recommend changing the password on the account, and see if it still happens. Someone might have cracked your account if you haven't given the information out to a friend or relative.
Good luck!
EDIT, sorry, just realized what you meant by "double starting"... ie, 2 instances of Steam on the same machine.... that is a wierd problem, and have never run into that one, and have used Steam since it first started. -
