    Hey Whats Up Guys,

I am new to the forum and to PC gaming in general. I have been a console gamer for the majority of my life and started to really get interested in all of the games that are constantly coming out on Steam. I decided to purchase a laptop from Origin that I am hoping to enjoy majority of games on (ill put some specs below). Early Access games are really interesting to me. Some of the titles I am interested in trying are Miscreated, Rimworld, Stonehearth, and Divinity: Original Sin 2. I like the idea of helping these games and supporting them as they evolve from alpha to (hopefully) full release. Some of these games have been in EA for quite some time. What do you guys think about Steam Early Access? What EA games have you tried that you would recommend? I think a lot of gamers these days are so used to purchasing games that are filled with bugs and require patches from launch that Early Access isn't too much of a leap. Hope to join in on some conversations with you guys in the near future. Thanks for reading.

With Early Access, you have to constantly keep in mind that you are buying an unfinished product. In about 70% of cases, the games do and will get dropped when sales slow down. It's always a gamble and you have to be ready to accept that the game you backed may end up an alpha forever.

I've seen quite a few people get burned so I generally avoid Early Access unless the game's development is nearing conclusion. Or if the game is on sale for dirt cheap. It all comes down to how much money are you willing to risk.

I think I may participate in a few of the EA games that I listed and just see where it goes. Maybe catch them during a sale like you mentioned. I just think that whole category of games is cool. Especially coming from console gaming.

The only one I'd trust myself is Divinity because Larian have a spotless track record. The rest are a pretty big gamble.
