Steam Support uses a different password / username combination than your actual Steam account, they're completely separate.
-
then when I click forgot password it take me to support where do I get my password on my steam account instead of my steam support account?
-
If you know what your username is, you can tell them that and they will send an e-mail to the account that you gave them originally.
-
Just as Bill has said, they are separate. Thus, you must register another account with steam support, whatever you choose.
-
Ok I found all my information on my computer on notepad document and now I know my password and it still says log in information is not correct. This is really starting to tick me off. I never changed my password. Now I can't I can't play any of my steam games. ahhhhhh!!!! I dont know what to do.
-
Now only your credit card information or security answers will help you. Good luck, the wait time is about a week, usually.
-
I don't know my security answer either I'm pretty sure the answer i'm putting in is correct. Great it takes a week? Now I cant get TF2 fro 9.99?
-
Right after the failed login attempt they should have a screen where you put in your username . Have you checked you e-mail account? If you are really the original account owner, they have probably sent you an e-mail to change your password. I had the same problem a while ago and they sent the e-mail in about 1minute.
-
ok yes I did that they give me a email with a reset code then it asks me the answer to the security question and when I put in my answer it says its not the correct answer and I know it is. I dont know what to do.
-
how can I contact steam?
-
If the answer is a name, then try it with a capital first letter. If that fails then try with a lower case first letter.
-
Go to steampowered.com click> support>Contacting Valve Billing and Support>Create a New Support Request>Account and Billing Issues >then follow the instructions on the page
-
tried that still did not work
-
I got it!!!! I know what I did and I feel like an idiot lol
-
Glad you got it fixed. Thanks for following up and letting us know.
