    my opinion / suggestion:

spend more time doing research. try and keep your topics a bit more cutting edge and opinionated instead of just a relay of information. i can just use wikipedia to get information about steam.

also, spend more time actually planning out and writing your articles. spell check, for example, might help you out.

last, don't expect to make money blogging. if you want to do it, it needs to be for its own enjoyment. people can see right through people. if writing is a chore, people will know. if writing is a joy, people will also see that.

I was being sarcastic, but it has to be pristine with nothing bad at all for it to be 5/5

Unless you are a well established site, it is very difficult to make decent money. I ran a few sites myself several years back and didn't make a dime even though it attracted over 500 hits/day.

That wasn't a review at all.

And 4.5 out of 5? You didn't even say anything besides maybe 3 features.

    Perfect for a 5/5?

You didn't even tell us how it's not perfect.

That was not a review: that was a very basic description of Steam's premise. If anyone's really paying you $25 for that post... well, you should be paying them much more.

As someone who knows what Steam is, you gave me nothing. That's a very bad thing. You should be able to read a good review after watching a movie, listening to an album, or playing a game - and there still has to be something of value there.

Give us examples of how Steam fulfills it's function - and don't just tell us what it does. Tell us what saves you time, what looks good, what feels natural and what pisses you off. Give me, the reader, a reason to read your review.

Throw in anecdotes if you have to... like that time you tried playing Steam on your laptop on the road - when you forgot to enable Offline mode. You could tell us how you stayed up 'till six in the mourning playing Peggle Extreme. You could tell us about your drunken attempts to make Steam accept your Starbucks gift card. Showing some personality can give your review a kick.

If you want to earn money with your reviews, than you have to treat your review like a product. Right now, your product is a bare, but leaky, cardboard box. Fill it with something worth buying.

PS: Forget about stars and rating scales as that's the least important part of any written review. If I can't tell that you're writing a review without it, you're doing something wrong.

Thanks for the constructive criticism it was my first review, and I was a little uneasy on what to write.

My advice, for an easy piece, is to find something you hate - be it a game, a service or a device - rationally explain why you hate it, compare it to something similar but better, and then explain what can be done to improve the thing into awesomesauce. It should just write itself.
