    Steam Server is Unavailable

    I am trying to install Saints Row 2 (Yes, it is a legit copy I bought from Target), but every time I to Activate the key, the white progress bars begin after a minute, then I get this:

    I have tried:

    Restarting my Computer
    Deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file


    I can play other games on Steam perfectly fine. My Firewall/Anti-Virus, basically nothing on my computer has changed recently.

    Any suggestions?

    did you try disabling your firewall anyway?

    any chance you can download a patch for the game?

    Steam servers are either getting hammered or completely down last time I tried. I tried to buy a game today and their servers wouldn't process the transaction. Steam community was also taken down so I think they should soon be back up and you can activate your game.

    Tried disabling it, yes. And I haven't looked for a patch yet until I install the game. A patch for installing a game? Man, that would suck!

    Ok, I am going out for dinner, so I will try when I get back.

    You're not alone man, I got Saint's Row sitting right here waiting to be played... aggrivating as hell ain't it? I fiddled with my firewalls and all that jazz, and came up empty. So I ran a search and found this posting, so at the very least I know it isn't just me.

    I need all the steam stuff is going under maintenance because my friend list was down earlier. Try again tomorrow to see if it works again.
