Steam Sale FAQ!
Q: Where are the trading cards?
A: This years sale doesn't have any trading cards, instead you can earn badges and other rewards in The Grand Prix Race.
Q: I purchased a game but got no tokens! What gives?
A: Purchasing products on the Steam Store does not yield tokens. Purchasing things increases your point capacity in the Grand Prix race.
Q: When does the sale end?
A: The 2019 Steam Grand Prix Summer Sale ends on July 9 , 2019 @ 10:00 AM PST. Click here to convert it into your time.
Q: I can't gift a friend because of regional price differences, what do I do?
A: You can send your a friend a Digital Gift Card via Steam instead, you can do that from here.
You can also gift games via a different, trusted and verified re-seller, like HumbleBundle.
Q: Are sale prices constant throughout the sale?
A: Yes, very rarely do discounts change during the course of a sale, but sometimes mistakes happen and a discount might be changed to correct an error.
Q: Should I wait until the end of the sale to buy things?
A: Don't wait until the end of the sale. As the previous question says: the prices for games are going to be the same throughout the sale. If you encounter technical issues with your purchase at the end of the sale, you will miss out on the sale price. Steam will not retroactively give you the sale price once the sale ends.
If you see something you are certain you want, buy it. Waiting till the very end will lead to a good possibility of you missing out on it altogether.
Q: Why are my downloads so slow?
A: There is severe load under Steam's servers, both store and content servers. Just give it some time, and try again later. Also, don't forget to check the server status on the sidebar. If you're having these issues at the very start or very end of the sale it is par for the course as the store and product pages are transitioning over for the sale, and as the servers are being bombarded by loads and requests by users.
Q: The store doesn't load, only my library works, images are broken, weird blue text, etc
A: The store not loading at the start and end of the sale is normal, and relatively slower load times is also normal, but if this is consistently happening try to clear the Steam browser cache and cookies.
If this doesn't work you can post in the support thread and/or use this Steam Guide for information and as a troubleshooting tool.
Q: Can I share the games that I have with my family or friends?
A: Yes, you may do so through Family Sharing, for more information read here. However, keep in mind that redeemed games are permanently tied to your library and cannot be transferred between accounts or exchanged.
Q: I haven't used Steam before; isn't Steam vaporized water?
A: If you're new to Steam then first of all, Welcome! And second of all, please read our New to Steam Wiki page.
Q: Can games be cheaper on other sites during the sale? What sites should I check?
A: Yes, games can be cheaper on other sites during the Steam Sale. Here is our list of safe sites to buy Steam keys from. There are many sites that sell Steam keys that practice in shady business, we recommend you only use the sites listed in that wiki page.
Q: My Wallet/Gift Card code is damaged and I can't redeem it! What do I do?
A: If your Wallet/Gift Card code is damaged, or otherwise can't be redeemed you need to contact Steam Support with a picture of the card.
Q: I don't like the game I purchased or a game I purchased a few days ago is cheaper now, can I refund it?
A: Yes, you can refund games on Steam, even if you bought a game a few days ago and you wan't to re-purchase it during the sale to get it for less.
To refund a game you cannot have more than 2 hours of playtime in it, and you cannot have owned it for longer than 14 days. If you have owned a game for 15 days and have 2 hours and 30 minutes of playtime you cannot refund it.
Please note: Approved refunds can take up to 7 days to appear in your account. If your refund hasn’t appeared after 7 days, please contact your bank directly and ask about pending funds on your account.

Its really sad the state of story rich games be it RPG/JRPG or 3rd person shooter like ME/MGS -

If you’re at all interested in the Deus Ex series, I would also recommend picking up The Fall. It got a lot of flak for basically being a direct port of the mobile game. Once they added in the ability to remap the controls, though, it became much more playable and is a worthy edition to the Human Revolution/ Mankind Divided timeline.

So far just grabbed Squad.
Thinking about maybe buying some cosmetic DLC for Rising Storm 2, a couple of planes for Il-2 BOX and maybe Batman Arkham Knight, but not sure I should get it now, as I have other games to play at the moment... -
I have grabbed nothing yet. I might not! Backlog is massive.

Just purchased the Middle Earth series and so far I find it very enjoyable to play!. It has the combination of witcher lore and story telling while having the combat style of assassins creed! For their price a must buy it if you ask me and also there is a demo for the shadow of war if people want to try it first before spending money on it!

There are plenty of fine games today as well.hfm likes this. -
I remember when shenmue came out, It was so cutting edge nothing even comes close to this day. 20 years later and no game allows you to live in a virtual world that you can completely interact with. I was excited and I won't lie the only game well 2 games i'm excited to play are is (lol) the witcher 3 and cyberpunk 2077. CP2077 has never been done before it does kinda remind me on cd projekt reds attempt at a game with the scope of san Andreas or GTA V. it's not that im getting jaded it's just that all the games are cookie cutter games, all developers do is make a game that will sell and design it around other games that are top sellers. I can see why, money is king/ however I wonder if sega will come back and turn the video game industry upside down. I'm all for new experiences and getting very tired of the same ole.
does anyone else agree, like is their not, way too many games that are all the same with like 4 exceptions, come on developers take a risk. -
I don't care about vr in the slightest.
I like my single player campaigns, give it a striking message and you've won me over. -

But for story driven games I agree, it's not needed. -
