Yes, it's great.
-
Took a very little time to get used to, but its a change.
-
totally love the UI.
-
personally it makes no difference to me. i liked the black skin i had in the old steam, the new steam colouring doesn't fit into my windows theme. the one thing that is great though is the in game internet browser. so much better than the old one.
-
Yay just updated it, feels a lot like Zune software navigation wise.
Runs bit snappier and nice sparky eye candies. -
I think it looks quite nice
My favorite part is the cover-flow like option under your games.
Makes them look much better, and browsing is fun now -
yeah i like the new UI i also really like the library section, i like that it tells you who has the game and who is playing as well as giving info on the same page....the UI just seems to be better designed, much more user friendly and im very happy with it.
-
For me only the Store page has changed, the Community and Games pages are the same. Does anyone else have this?

I do like how they added "friends that play this game" thing though. -
The UI is easier to navigate and has some eye candy.
the main thing for me is that its faster, no lag, and snappy -
love the option that u can change settings per game now.
like steam overlay + punkbuster is bad for games like battlefield 2 and cod4.
gets u kicks by use of illegal driver.
now you finally can disable steam overlay per game instead of completely.
thnx valve!
made it just that better -

Yeah but the old overlay worked with BC2... i didnt realize this was the same overlay as the beta and that it was not fixed yet, that should maybe be a warning on the first post.
So the best thing they could have done is have "enable old overlay" settings for games that it wont work with. -

You did do the File --> Check for updates right?
When I logged on steam did an update but not an update fully to this new version as its not required yet just optional so it tells you on the landing page when steam opens that you have to do this to get the new version. -
I like the new UI, it reminds me of the Zune UI, which I like a lot. The new in-game overlay seems to be more responsive than the old one. I'm happy as long as the new version is light on resources and stable as a rock.
-
It's ok. But they still have the same old antiquated Steam backup utility...
-
looks a lot better and like the UI a lot.. going to have to get used to it but is this something like UI in the beta and now its live?
-
-
,
or the last option, GRID just gives you a thumbnail of your games.....
the new UI seems to give many more options which i really like........ -
i havnt been able to connect for a while now. i only have like a set 3 hours in a day that i can play games in, which is now, and steam isnt connecting >: (
-
Have you guys tried any of the custom skins? FPSBANANA > GUIs > Steam > Steam V4 I find Charsidian similar enough to the obsidian from the previous version of Steam.
-
I like it,
I just hope they will improve the game shortcut part of it for non-steam games so that i can manually assign cover art for a shortcut game. instead of just having an icon. Then it will be perfect! Doubt they will though. -
i would like both this skin AND that button
-
-
yes... i just noticed, i came back online to edit my post so you didn't think i was blind and foolish, but you caught me!!
-
Hehe, it's all good, I do that a lot too.
-
I never used the old UI, so I do not know if it is better. However, I like it well enough. Everything was clearly presented and I haven't gotten lost yet...
