I just deleted the client registry blob file and it gave me that message... before that it would come up to bring me a message and said cant connect to the internet, I clicked reconnect and it would say:
Could not connect to the Steam network.
It appears that you are notcurrently connected to the intert, or that your internet connection is not configured correctly for steam.
Either check your connection and click retry or start steam in offline mode.
Once I click on either ones it says could not connect blablabla could be due to your connection or the steam network... Friggin ironic, I click start offline and it tells me, connection problems WTF I said start OFFLINE dumb steam
I have this huge problem with steam right now, I cant connect or even start it since it says 0x12e848 with error 201 cant connect without internet...
I saved the old registry incase of anything... I switched them back and forth and I get the same result: New blob = error 201 crap Old blob = Retarded im not connected message..

Quit your whining please. It's not *our* fault if Steam is a piece of crap. Quit *****ing that "no one is helping". You've had several replies already. If that isn't enough, then you need to either a: Ask Steam, or b: provide more information about the problem. (with a side order of c: Just accept that we may not know what exactly causes the problem)
Apart from that, you've been given a suggestion on how to fix it, so people *are* helping. The fact that you aren't willing to listen or try it is your problem, not ours.
Thank you. Report back when you've tried reinstalling Steam. -
Wow, man I was just mad because so many people where commenting all the other posts for over an hour, Here Ill attach the friggin log from since it worked to now.
They all tell me to reinstall, I know.. I really dont think that would help. I have DSL but since I think my isp doesnt "support" wireless my DSL connection gets throdeled down to 30 kb/s .... so Reainstalling the games and stuff would be a giant pain in the A**Attached Files:

I meant reinstall Steam as well. No, your DSL does not have power over whether or not you use wireless. There's another issue there.
Reinstalling Steam makes sense, whether or not it's a PITA. -
PITA!!?!?
Did anyone see my log and read it for me? I dont really know what it means -

Dont blame me for not trying -
Ok the easiest way to backup games if you cant get into steam is to just create a copy of the 'steamapps' folder which is found in your steam directory, then go ahead and uninstall steam then reinstall it try logging in if you successfully login logout close steam move the 'steamapps' folder back into your new steam directory and all your games should be back no need to re-download them.

But I cant reinstall since I have Windows Installer problems :
