It's a very simple air dogfighting game. Worth the $1.50 at least as a time waster. But figured if NBR members wanted to buy it too, we could have a game with NBR members just for fun. Just a thought.

I picked it up, had a visa gift card with $1.93 i'd been looking to finish off. Its very good for $1.50, and a screaming deal in the 4 pack.

If you picked up one of the 4 packs wignnut I will send you the $1.13 for a copy via paypal.
Looks fun, kind of reminds me of Playstation 1 days one of my favorite games called Warhawk. -
I thought there's a warhawk game on the ps3 too o_o
-
I bought it the other day, it's been pretty fun. It's nice to see a flight sim that works nicely with mouse controls...although one of these days when I invest in a solid joystick/throttle system, I'll turn on Advanced flight mode. As it is, it's too tricky to do that with a mouse
If anyone doesn't have me on Steam yet, my ID is Mastershroom. -
its cheap enough i think ill be getting a copy
-
Hey, sorry, I bought the four pack and gave them to a few friends already. It's fun, easy to get in to, and very cheap that pretty much anyone can afford, which is why I thought I'd post here at NBR. Be good for a quick go in and play type game.
I was going to buy another four pack but it doesn't let you. I was actually going to give four away. -

Have not played yet just been messing with the game to get it working for eyefinity. I had to recall some of my memory editing skills.
I have it working for the most part but it still needs work and some fine tuning.

I have the FOV working but not the aspect ratio, I think a forum member knows how to fix the aspect ratio though via registry editing, once I do that should be pretty good and I can work on a memory editing table that I can distribute. I only have found the dynamic address for FOV not the static one yet so I have no idea how much work that will take since I have not done this stuff in so long.Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Game is pretty fun for $1.50.
-
yeah I'll get it.
-
Just picked it up. Played the demo for a bit, pretty fun if I get the itch to play a flying game.
-
Yeah, it's nice to have a break from the fps's every once in a while.
-
Well the multiplayer is pretty darn fun, but it's a little short.
And I keep getting disconnected from the server (tried multiple servers). I managed to play 2 games in a server before I lost connection. -

You guys using keyboard & mouse or a controller?
granted I only played for like 8 minutes on the tutorial with a crazy fov distortion and oversized hud, but I didnt like the mouse controls very much. -
Ya, I do and I don't mind them.
It supports the Xbox 360 controller to, but I have gotten used to the mouse/keyboard.
I just need to adjust my mouse DPI settings more. -
Well it's fun while I am actually IN a game.
But I can't stay more than 1-2 games, otherwise I lose connection to server. This is really starting to become annoying.
I'm glad it was only $1.50, otherwise I would be much more P.O'd. -
I haven't played online yet, mainly training and some single player stuff. Hopefully they fix the multiplayer. It would be good to have a skirmish or two against one another.
I find the controller to react too slowly to controls. Mouse/keyboard seems a little better, but still have to get used to them.
The game actually has some pretty steep requirements though. I thought it would be a good game for my netbook, but i have to run at like 640x400 with minimal detail for it to run smoothly. Wish there was a DirectX 7 or 8 switch for it though like with Half-Life 2. Would smooth it out a lot, and could crank the resolution back up. -

Got it working proper now I think.

Nice! Are you using mouse/keyboard, joystick, or gamepad?
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
I used both lol,
Since I have not put any time behind the wheel yet I find the controller easier to use, but like you said there is some kind of axis limitation with the gamepad you can turn faster/sharper with the mouse so thats the route I will take.
So I was playing with the controller but kept grabbing the mouse to click "ok" on all the dialog boxes because the controller doesnt have a button for "ok" you have to use the analog stick and navigate to the ok like a mouse and its slow, even slower in eyefinity seems the larger resolution cuts the sensitivity 3x. -
Yeah, I played a bit more and mouse is definitely the way to go. Although I might hook up a stick and see how it does.

Woot! I got a working eyefinity hack now that I actually made myself. Now starting to play the game since the testing is over.
Encoding my first gameplay video now. Will edit with link when its done.

sweet deal; I'm going to pick this up when I get home from work. Reminds me of a dog-fighting tourney I was a part of in BF2; now THAT was fun!
-
Nice vicious. Good video. Still using keyboard/mouse? Looked like you might have been using a joystick there actually.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Yep keyboard & mouse. Have not tried joystick yet.
I hear its a bit of a pain to get a joystick properly working. I still have to learn a lot of the controls. I do not know how to change weapons and stuff like that. -

Number keys. Your plane will default to the newest weapon if you pick one up.
And Mongoose for the win. Chasing after fools and pecking them to death with machine guns is the way to go. -
I believe mouse scroll wheel will also cycle through them. This kinda reminds me of the good ol' original crimson skies for PC (not the crappy remake on consoles). I loved that game so much.
-
Nvm I'll think about it.

I still have not played a multiplayer game, but I am having fun just flying around in free flight mode and played a couple of vs CPU games.
I think this game has a lot of potential especially with mods to add new stages and planes.
Im already working on photoshoping my own textures for my favorite plane
-
Can you make transparent textures?
-
I've been playing through the SP tournament mode. So far my favorite weapon is the viper rail gun. It's a pretty fun game, but the music gets a little old after a while.
-
Yeah I turned the music OFF. If there was a lot more variety it would be good, but so far it gets a bit on the nerves.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Play your music in a media player and turn the game music off
Hey wingnut what is your favorite plane? -
I like the mongoose so far. And I did try the advanced flight model. I like it. More like real flying!
