    Steam gaming anyone?

    The engine it used is way too outdated, even the developers admitted that it was too old to work out LAN with.

    My g/f and I were playing magicka adventure co-op last night over lan. I was hosting, and we were fighting kahn. Then, all of a sudden, both of our clients quit with no error. It was strange because I thought if I crashed, she'd be back to server select screen, or we'd see some kind of error report or something.

    How old is majicka? If its new then it might just be a bug that will be patched.

    They've released 8 DLC for it now....and it seems to be a problem that many users have had since the beginning (crash to desktop with no error message). I looked in the steam-log, and it shows "Animation velocity set to: NAN!!!" or something like that.

    They've even released DLC poking fun at the crashes, but couldn't be bothered to fix them apparently

    - Crash to Desktop Spell
    - Bug Staff
    - Patched Robe
    - Broken Sword
    etc.....

    I just had to use a Hex-editor to force my save-file into the next chapter, because I couldn't stand to fight the boss and crash again. The game restarts at the beginning of every chapter, and check-points are only good for subsequent gameplay :(

    Fair enough, definate bug that needs sorting then. I bought this game on the summer sale so i'll see if it effects me to.

    It's easy enough to edit the save file if you're getting crashed on a certain part. After skipping the ch5 boss fight, we haven't had a crash since and are into chapter 9 right now.

    It's hard to play this game without an hour set aside, because you have to be prepared to complete an entire chapter if you want to save progress.

    lol, no kidding.

    Someone created a save-game editor and posted it on the steam-forums...

    But I think it's easy enough to open the .sav file with a hex-editor and change the second bit to the chapter I want to play.

    00 = Chapter 1, 01 = Chapter 2, 02 = Chapter 3, etc.

    As long as you don't mind that I have a cut version without Riot Cop (he won't show up during game play) and I'm still total n00b at it. Otherwise I'm always down to play, unless I have to study lol... :D
