    Those people with Steam. When you open up Steam, does it freeze on you?
    Most of the time when I open it up, it freezes. I'm not sure if it's because it is updating.

    i had the exact same problem last weekend when i installed steam - i was told to diable UAC (or give amin privleges) to steam.... i did not reinstall steam to try this out yet but if you try it and it resolves the issue please let me know - thanks

    I had this problem too but updating vista through windows update solved the problem

    I didn't have any problems with Steam itself. I didn't run it until I d/l'd the ton and a half of Vista updates. I play Bioshock w/o issues. Stalker won't run for me yet however.

    Yeh, forgot to reply, was playing source, and can say, no steam problems.

    Just don't put vertical sync on, will cause major tearing.

    were you able to resolve this issue? i know the exact same thing happens to me when i start steam, it just freezes and i have to end task.
