So I have tried to use Steam several times to allow it to install games on several hardrives...well two but it never works. Has anyone ever got it to work? I know there was a work around before they ever enabled it but now that it is enabled why can't I get it to work? It says steam library failed to install or something like that
EDIT: well now I can make a new steam folder but can't install anything to it...it just installs to first one and doesn't give an option....

never mind.....i guess it works now but only for certain games...odd
Mod feel free and delete or close.
EDIT: curious though on why it works now and not before -_- and with only certain games -

finally got it to work...nah i have any where from 2-3 TB of games i bet now so i want my fav games on my SSD and the rest on external.
Yep works on external now too....so dumb...for over a year i have tried to get this to work and never worked and now it is...sigh oh well at least it works now. I read somewhere it doesn't work if steam is updating or downloading a game so that might be the reason for it not working in the past. -
2-3TB of games?!!!!! wow! I would be lucky if I had 150GB

EDIT: I always tell people to buy packs and deals....always avoid deals that are in packs or may become in packs. I have spent maybe 1 grand or so so far and about 100 or so bucks have been wasted due to double buying games in packs down the road :/ I was really disappointed in this year's Christmas sale...was hoping Sega complete was going to be there :/ sad i own a good chunk of those games though already :/ -
Glad you got it working, it works well but as you've discovered it does not work on all games.... From what I've read they are slowly updating but if a game hasn't been updated you will not be given an installation library choice. I'm stuck with a couple I can't move for that reason.
Steam won't allow games to be installed on different drives.
