so sill a pile of junk ?

What are you measuring fps with?
Can you disable sli and run the test with a single 880? -
you can see on the screen i have steam on the right corner and with pink the last line with RivaTuner Statistics Server
-
Can you disable sli and run the test with a single 880?
-
and still the same
-
What were the vr test result with a single gpu? Surely VR capable?
-
the result says its not capable but wtf i get more fps then 140 - 200 with sli they only need 90 so wtf VR ...
this is the single gpu test

Agreed in a sense.... This program really sucks.. But your 880M suck monkey balls too

lol i can beat a 980M easy so 970M should go hide

Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
Okay, 880M teasing aside (a low hanging fruit that never gets old, heh) . . . This test is all levels of unreliable -- so far as Kepler is concerned -- as I can get back-to-back scores ranging from 3.0 to 4.9 with multiGPU enabled and nothing with a single card. That literally doesn't make logical sense. One can have a look at the various threads relating to desktop cards where we have single 680s and 770s scoring anywhere from 0.1 to the mid-4 and 5 range; given the 970M's general score of around the mid-5 range, the minimum to be expected of the 780M/880M should be around 4. There's something else going on here.

Single 980M shows up at just below ready but AFR 2, framerate doesn't dip below 190FPS (and is generally over 200) even though SteamVR doesn't recognize that.
I have a feeling we are all in for a huge let down with VR SLI... The interesting thing is that on Valve's forums, people are saying their desktop SLI machines are doing SLI on their own. Latest nVidia drivers. I think they're full of it... because they're complaining about their machines failing but meh.deadsmiley likes this. -

Although the new Nvidia 364.72 driver has been causing some people problems, it's helped my GT80 980m SLI sustain the highest boost clocks so far, +135 +400, before this I had to choose between a high Core clock or a High Memory clock +135 +300 or +125 +400 - I couldn't sustain both at the same time.
That along with the VR Optimizations brought my SteamVR score up from 9.5 to 9.8 !

That's a rather nice boost there. Single GPU run I'm assuming?hmscott likes this.

No, I have SLI set the same as normal. I just set the -multigpu command line option in Steam for SteamVR Performance Test.

Nice
My clocks were 1485/8000 by the way. -
I really wish my cards didn't run so damn hot though... the 76C was with max fans and it was after running the full batch of 3DMark tests and then Catzilla... I really need to buy new heatsinks but there's no guarantee that they will be any better than the ones I have now.hmscott likes this.

This test is so broken with GCN 3 GPUs (and a lot of older ones as well, in fact the only ones that seem to do well are GCN2 and Maxwell 2). Still my Sapphire Nitro R9 380X OC (Factory oc to 1040MHz core / 6000MHz memory) manages to score 5.2, though if it gets fixed it should end up closer to 6.

That looks like your GPU signals are routed through the iGPU (Intel), hence VR is a no go because of Latency issues. Welcome to my world...

He can at least provide a Graphics Amplifier from Dell and then purchase a graphics card on a web shop. @A-leo can provide a better price on graphics on the web than what Dell will offer him... But it should not have been such a problem with an very expensive Gaming laptop that is the best Alienware can offer today. Dellienware will obviously sell its graphics amplifiers and expensive graphics cards = More money to Dell's shareholders and less hardware features to their customers
