I'm not obsessing. I'm just bored of all the games I have.
-
Easy there champ. No one is trying to hurt you
-
Why did you even post? Just to be a smart-behind?
(and I posted "behind" because a$$ is censored)
God I'm so sick of people like you on a forum. But I guess you gotta have idiots to balance out all the awesomeness... -

The whole episodes thing is confusing. I thought the idea was to deliver shorter gameplay but in quick succession using the same graphics technology. I would have been perfectly fine with that. But stretching it out like this is getting long in the tooth.
A three parter with episodes released every six months would have been perfect. But they keep dicking around with new features, etc, for a game that only lasts about six to eight hours. -

lol the graphics better be good Half life 2 is nice graphically but there have been some major improvements since then so lets hope they up the ante.
Then again graphics dont really make games. -

HL2 and then the episodes have gotten consistently better graphically after each one so I expect a true lighting system by Ep3 along with of course higher geometry and better textures. I thought Ep1 was good and then Ep2 blew me away so I'm really excited for Ep3.

I disagree with the statement graphics don't make games. In many games, graphics are the core essence of the gameplay, as to what the developers are trying to make you feel. FEAR is a good example of this, while some games don't "need" better graphics, some others rely on them. Graphics detail sets the mood and drives the storyline in alot of games, it's just not the same game if it's set to a low setting.
However, since HL2 was released, they have updated the engine with HDR, real time color correction, Depth of field, raised the limit on texture size, added in better audio codecs, added real time soft shadows, and recently real time ray tracing into the SDK which means the engine is capable of it. The only graphics effect I think they should go after next that is very important is steep parallax mapping.
For those of you who don't know what this is, look here. It gives the effect of 3D textures, and even allows them to cast shadows, even though you are still looking at a flat texture. These are what many of Crysis' textures look like when on maximum settings.
Still no word on HL2 EP3?
