    Hi all,

Im having a small issue with my Sony Vaio F, was wondering is anyone was able to assist.

I play online games wirelessly, and in the past on a vista based computer I had issues with lag every 60 seconds on the wireless network. It turned out the problem was the Wireless config program scanning for new networks which was causing the latency spikes.

I was able to fix this problem with a program called Vista Anti-Lag (VAL).

I am having the same issue with Windows 7 in my F, and I was wondering if there is a similar tool for Windows 7 that will accomplish what I want?

Has anyone else had the same issue with online games with this machine?

    Thanks in advance

About time a new version is released, considering how useful this little program is.

I never heard about this 60-second wireless scanning.
I play online games, download big files, and neer experienced and lag spikes nor experience my wireless scanning for new networks.
I am on a secured wireless home network.

It always gets me killed in MW2, like clockwork. Every minute, everything will just freeze, and I'll rubberband all over for a few seconds and then it will be back to normal.

    Thanks for the link!

I have win7 Ultimate 64bit and I get this problem all the time -- cod4 mostly.

This software unfortunately didn't work for me. :-(

I had that issue with both the Acer and Toshiba netbooks I used. It might be something to do with the meager CPU performance, not sure what though. My Acer had a Core 2 Solo SU3500 and Toshiba Athlon Neo X2 L325.

Good to see this app worked. It was driving me nuts at the time too.

Ive tested this WLAN Optimizer for a week or so, and unfortunately I have concluded that it does not work for me.

I think I am going to double check the drivers my Wireless card is using. Not sure how modern the default Sony ones are.

I am however very happy that the responses in this thread seem to have helped a number of people! :)

Yeah it doesn't work for me either. I wonder if it is more of a placebo affect for most, or if it is driver based?

No it actually works, it solved my insane ping spikes on my linksys adapter.

Another fix is to try a different driver or wifi connection manager. Something that overrides or stops windows from doing a background scan every minute
