It's a strange issue, but when I play games like: Amnesia a Machine for Pigs, Sonic Adventure DX or use Microsoft Word or Excel, my laptop screen freezes for some 5 seconds, then unfreezes. This freezing is happening constantly every 1-2 minutes.

What I noticed, that when this freeze happens, the right side of my laptop starts making a sound like a cooler gets turned on (spinning), or some kind of enginge starts working... When the game unfreezes, that sound stops.

This never happens when I play other games, like Heroes of the Storm, Rainbow Six Siege, Guild Wars 2 and etc.

I think it might be related to the integrated graphic card, but amnesia and sonic is running on my Nvidia card. :/

    My laptop model:

    Acer Aspire V3-771 PowerStation GT

Thanks for help! This issue annoys the hell out of me ://

Could it be the HDD? Try running HWmonitor and keep it running while you game. The software should keep the HDD working without letting it sleep, which I suspect it is what's happening.

Unless you have bigger problems haha.

You should also monitor CPU/GPU usage %, clockspeeds etc.

If you have two hard drives, the right side of the machine is where the second hard drive resides according to the service manual I pulled up. Based on the symptoms, it sounds to me like your hard drive is spinning down as ryzeki pointed out but the problem is how audible you are making the sound out to be. Normally hard drives aren't as audible as you're describing it.

I would run this tool and check to see if your drive is on the verge of failure.

I have tow HDD's. One is SSD which I bought like 1.5 years ago. But this happens only on certain games and Word, so dunno.I have installed the program, but what should I see there? :)

Both's HDD's passed failure tests and are OK.

Sometimes I press to open some folder or something, and it gets stuck as well while that specific sound appears again. :/

Sounds like the hard drive is just spinning down. You can fix that easily by changing the power settings.

I would set it out for at least an hour on each plugged in section on each power profile. Always make sure you're on high performance when you're plugged in too.
