    I didn't know if I should post it here or in the ASUS forum, but as I post here more frequently, I decided this is the place.

    I bought Dead Space yesterday. When I arrived home the DVD drive couldn't recognize the disk in the bay, some green light blinking for some time, and only that.
    As I bought my more recent games by Steam, I wanted to check if it was a problem with my drive.
    All my DVD games (FSX, World in Conflict, BF2142, NBA07, were recognized without any problems, as dvd movies, cd-roms or music cds.

    Today I returned the game to the store. Then we tested the game before returning it, in three differente machines. In all of them, the disk was normally recognized.

    So now I'm lost and don't know what can be the problem, and also can't install my game. I suppose I could download an ISO and use my key with it, but I don't like the idea of having a useless disk or not knowing what is going wrong here. Any ideas, people?

    I don't know about Deadspace, but I know that some forms of copy protection have been known to cause problems for people, i.e. disc not being read by some optical drives. That's possibly what happened to you, I'd research it and see if it employs any kind of copy protection and see if there's a way to be able to get your drive to read it properly.

    If you returned the game, you can't use the key from it. It's illegal.

    You could try getting it from Direct2drive or Steam...

    I didn't return, I tried to return. As the game showed itself working, I could not return or change it for another product. Diferent laws here.

    Anyway, for some inponderable reason, the game decided to work this morning, and let me install. {shrugs}

    lesson for me- give up completely on buying physical games. Digital download only now.

    I'm definitely getting this one on Steam now. Or maybe Xbox360...

    Tell me how it plays on the PC :)

    It runs well, overall but I have shaders on medium, and AA off

    Great game though, I'm really enjoying it
