I already have many Street Fighter-ish controllers and joysticks.

... funny enough, my favorite are my good ole original Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad controllers.... (the one that still requires a midi/game port)

A $100 price tag isn't too far off from what the bundle will probably be priced.

SF4 game: Let's say this goes for $40 on the PC.
    Fight Pad: $40
    Regular Stick: $70
    TE Stick: $150

When you think about it, $100 is inline with the current pricing structure. So yeah, save up your money if you want a stick. On the plus side, resale value is extremely high. You could probably recoup your cost fairly easily if you bought one package (game + TE stick) and another TE stick. TE sticks are going for ~$400-500.

$400-$500? Wow i didnt expect it would had a receptions for this i honestly wouldn't be surprised to see this game for only $60 and that would include a gamepad...

Heres how i got there, Capcom seems to have something big planned for PC gamers which is really cool they will pull off something interesting trust me.

Im more interested in knowing how good the online will be on PC i hope they give voice support and everything.

I'm gonna get the PC version for sure. But man, seriously, their is no one good on the PS3 version of SF4.

I've only played like 4 or 5 peeps that are actually really good and the rest is just freakin horrible.

I picked it up for my PS3 this week with a TE stick my total (collectors edition game also) came out to 230 USD not cheap but worth it imo considering how much I'll play and the resale value shouldn't be to bad either

New games for the PC go for around $49.99 add another $20 for a very simple gamepad that would need much less moving parts than a similar PS3/360 one( you would basically have the directional button, hopefully some sort of mini joystick and 6 action buttons) so it wouldn't be to expensive to produce.
I'm guessing if it does come out it would be around $69.99 and at the very most $79.99, which would be OK with me if I could get my Street Fighter fix, even better if there is some online action.

$70-80 sounds where it would/should be for the gamepad & game combo. Id just get the game though and spend the extra $$$ on the TE stick or use a controller you already have like the Xbox 360 one.

Im lucky enough to have arcade controls for my PC already though.

    Gophn, I'm with you 100%.

When I found out MS was going to stop making PC gaming peripherals, I bought an extra Sidewinder Pro, Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, and Force Feedback wheel. They were 1/2 price at CompUSA (RIP) too. I should have bought all of them considering I could have made a few bucks.

MS made the best PC gaming peripherals of all time IMHO...

Yeah, there are a few options out there.

If you did not want to build your own I would probably look into these:

    http://www.xgaming.com/two-player.shtml

Good warrenty, and they sell cheap adapters to let it work with almost all the consoles.

If you want to build your own, hacking a xbox360 controller is not hard and whats really cool about that is right out of the box it will work on xbox360 or pc.

Or get a keyboard encoder like I use the I-PAC VE is only $35 shipped

I hear the cthulu board works for PC too and thats the emulator board for a PS3 controller and its cheaper than one too.

Also for pre-mades this company is up and coming - http://www.arcadeinabox.com/

    Hey quick question lmao...

Whats a TE stick? And I find that I'd like the PC version better of it, since using a gamepad is alot better than the 360 controller

    TE - Tournament Edition

for SF4 Madcatz made some high end joysticks avalable, there is the fightpad thing from earlier in the thread, for about $30 or $40

Then jump to about $100 and you can get a real joystick called the fightstick, I am not so sure whats in here but its a real arcade like joystic.

Then go to $150 and get the real deal the TE fightstick, the TE version has real Sanwa parts, those are what are used on the actual arcade, very high quality and a very nice stick, but if you did not pre-order one your not going to get one for less than probably $300 as I believe it was a limited quantity of them only and they were all sold.

You would be better off getting somebody to build you a joystick w/ sanwa parts than trying to buy a TE at this point IMO due to the inflated price.

I personally use cheaper Happ stuff (the stuff on American arcades) and like it a lot, you may actually prefer them too as 95% of all American games use Happ stuff, its the Japanese games that use Sanwa or similar and it feels different in use.

    edit: a video of all 3 of the SF4 controllers - http://shoryuken.com/?p=749#comments

Wow so its works for 360 and PC also according to the page ps3 games will work too. I guess ill have to read some reviews on it though.

It looks really good as well and for the price that's amazing plus two people can play :D i spent alot of time playing MVC2 at the arcade maybe this will bring back some memories for me :D

EDIT: Wow!!! Lifetime warranty? Thats crazy cool +rep vicious

Yeah its good stuff, I think Chaz has one from them and he has been happy with it. I do believe its Happ stuff they use but I am not positive. Like I said the great thing is for $20-$30 they sell adapters to make it work with the consoles. It cost me like $80 to convert my PC only sticks into dreamcast and I am still not done with that project.

Plus now that I am playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom I may want to also find a way to get it working on my Wii (looks like PSX pads hacked and connected to gamecube adapters is going to be the way to go)

There is another Arcade stick on that same page that costs $200 that looks alot bigger in size is it? I looked hard and the layout is somewhat different then the one you showed me like i said it looks longer.

Speaking of TvC can you use a regular gamecube/Wii classic controller?

I have 1 classic controller and it works well, but it does not fill my recent need for authentic arcade controls.

Gamecube pads also work but I have not tried yet. Those are the only two options I think.

That $200 one your talking about is the Tank Stick probably, thats longer because it has the track ball in the middle. Probably not what you want/need unless you plan to play some older arcade games on mame that use it. Though if you think you may want it may as well get it now since it will be cheaper, and it would be nice to have more space between 2 players I think and a bit more weight on the stick (but both of them are pretty heavy)

Also I think for $20 they will customize the layout for you, so if you prefer the slanted Japanese button layout like I use its not a problem.

No adapter is needed to get the Mad Catz SF4 pads and sticks to work on the PC. They're supposed to be a plug and play.
