Anyone have feedback on this yet?
I have a Dell Inspiron i7 w/ 960m, and am trying to decide whether to pick the game up on Steam or PS4.
I'd rather buy the Steam version, but with the PS4 I know it will work. Unlike most games, 60fps is important.
Would be interested to hear peoples experiences.

You should go PS4 unless the 960M you have will overclock like a beast.

I really hate to be the parrot here but... if you want the best experience from Street Fighter V, you have to go console. That's not because the 960M can't handle it (with the right optimization, the 960M can kill the graphics capability of the PS4 and Xbox One), its because these games have ALWAYS been arcade and console games. You can find people years and years after the game comes out to fight against on multiplayer on a console but the PC version? Dead in a few months. These games are tailor made for console controllers and while you can use both on PC (I was playing IV with my PS4 controller just last night), you miss out on a lot of the actual experience as it was intended.

I actually played SFIV on PS3 last gen, complete with every fightstick and fightpad under the sun.
Unfortunately, I have significantly less 1 on 1 time with the TV nowadays, hence why I've been gradually moving to laptop gaming.
The ability to prop my laptop up on the bench and play a couple rounds of SF5 outweighs the simplicity of getting it for PS4 (plus I have a pad which I know will work on the laptop).
However, I've been hearing that the game is much more demanding than I'd like. I'm really not too worried about the 1080p (720p would be fine), but the 60fps is a non-negotiable, obviously.
Be really interested to hear some feedback if anyone's been able to try it -
Want an example?

These are max in-game settings... Compare that to most ports... -
Street Fighter 5 is cross platform with PS4 players through the Capcom network. So the idea that it'll be dead in a few months is now not the case (which is a welcomed feature)

I'd still recommend the PS4 version though... -
I wish gamers would go through the hassle of refunding games that suck on launch and buying them IF they are fixed.Ethrem likes this. -
7970m, runs at 60fps with AA on low, PP on med, everything else on Max.

I don't buy any games these days that aren't either from GOG, Steam, or digital on my consoles. Especially with the new 20% pre-order discount Amazon offers Prime members... 47.99 is cheap for a console game... And you been have either a week or two weeks after release to get that price so you don't actually have to pre-order a game that sucks. -
Also, SSF4 on launch wouldn't register my D900F's keyboard, and I had to set up the controller in the options menu, so I had to borrow the plug & play controller from the desktop, shove it into the laptop, log into the main menu, set up the controller to work, then return the keyboard to the desktop and use the controller from then on until they patched that crap out. Believe me, I've seen my fair share of crapcom crap that people seem to forget. Every time they release a new PC title, especially a street fighter one, they break something that wasn't broken on-launch in the last title. They're not bloody serious.
Even if they eventually fix things, the point is that on launch people have problems throughout the wazoo. It shouldn't be like that, especially since the game is clearly unfinished. Always online single player, lack of arcade mode or story mode, credits for a store that does not work yet... yeah no.
Some people make the valid point that they're not refunding because either they're just using an Xbox controller/fight stick from the get go, or use X360CE anyway, or use things like the scarlet crush drives and DS4windows (I think that's the name of it) on their PS controllers and don't care, or that they know they'd simply re-buy it later on after it's fixed, and that's too much hassle for them. But still, I just wish people would actually speak with their wallets more and stop accepting half-finished, broken titles just because they want to play it. It's not like Capcom said "hey, we're releasing this thing broken cuz deadlines, but we'll fix it soon ok?" (which would prompt many people to state they should just delay it, but at least they'd be transparent about it) or anything. It's not like they had no prior experience for releasing on the platform or anything. It's just stupid.
People should buy when things work and return if it doesn't work. Maybe then people would actually work on titles. I'm starting to notice that the most high profile titles that EVERYBODY wants to play usually are the most broken on launch, but people play them anyway. See: 90% of ubish*t titles, every single bugthesda title, etc. The ones that come out the most stable are the ones that don't have a big guarantee of a bunch of rabid fans willing to brave any issue to fix things. Payday 2 on launch was great, though the game mechanics themselves could have done with a rework (balance-wise). Dark Souls 2 and SOTFS really did their homework and they improved each time. Valkyria Chronicles had a fantastic port, except for this one point where I can't walk up somewhere unless at 30fps, but the rest of the game is fine.
But no, Assassin's Moneybags? Each game more broken. CoD post-BO2? Broken, with BO3 being the crown jewel. Bugthesda's library? Broken. SF V with all its resounding hype? Even PS4 people are complaining it's broken. Mortal Kombat X? Brokeeeeennnnn.Last edited: Feb 22, 2016Ethrem likes this. -
The problem is I don't want to get stuck with a game so have you actually used the refund feature? Because I want it for PS4... After I get around to reviews... Because 47.99 or not, of the reviews suck I don't want it... Amd you're talking to a Chun Li lemme get you in the corner and you're dead just because I feel like you've annoyed me with your big talk player... -
Edit: The forum broke, sorry. I was saying to you that I never used the refund feature, but it works fine, and that it returns money to your steam wallet not your credit card.Last edited: Feb 23, 2016 -
I don't have the money to risk... I just signed for Comcast for 205x24...

Broadband + decent HD cable package in US is expensive. I have four HD boxes with one as central DVR, and 150/100 internet and I pay about $170/mo with taxes. But that's on the two year plan. After two years it will probably jump $50 or more.
