Prey great game. Haven't played the others so I can't say much about them. Have you looked into F.E.A.R. and its expansion?

Played FEAR? Its a great single player game, scariest thing I've ever played. Especially when you have a decent pair of speakers or headphones.

Half Life 2 can provide hours of fun as well. Get the pack with CS, and DoD and you will have free online play for hours upon end.

Zellio those games you listed in your first post have pretty easy system reqs. What is your hardware? Oblivion, Medieval 2, FEAR all require pretty hefty GPU's and RAM.

Battlefield 2 and 2143 are great (I love 2142, so sue me). I haven't played the regular game for either but online play is fantastic I just love that style of FPS. Nothing quite matches up with dogfights in Battlefield 1942 or doing a donut around a bridge but I'll take what I can get.

I've only heard great things about Company of Heroes and if you're like me and thing Relic is God then play Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, Winter Assualt and Dark Crusade. Those three games represent the one of my favorite series of RTS's ever. They have unique gameplay, setting, attention to detail, storyline (well, not Dark Crusade but I love it too), and are truly gorgeous games. I've said and heard others say they can watch DoW replays like they are movies.

UT2k4 isn't worth it in my opinion but I was forever corrupted by the original Unreal Tournament.

Warcraft 3 is great and Battle.net is an experience unto itself. The Call of Duty series is always fun with great online play also. And if you really want a long term addiction then pick up Guild Wars; no monthly fee, great gameplay (if more guided than other MMO's) and tons of crap to keep you occupied plus a halfway decent community.

Eye candy doesn't generally interest me. I still play Homeworld because I've never found an RTS to match it's style. Empire at War had it's chance but the space battles were in tiny little maps, forced into 2d movement and a boring unit selection. It looked good but barely held my interest.

I think Company of Heroes is pretty good RTS. Atleast if you like WW2 theme. If you are into Band of Brothers tv-movie/serie or movies like Saving Private Ryan, you will love this game. It also has great graphics, very realistic sound effects and good gameplay..

    Think I've settled on:

Titan Quest DVD version (I love Diablo)
    Resident Evil 4 GC
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time DS
    Bomberman DS
    Children of Mana DS
    Unreal Tournment 2004 PC

Total of all this is around $90.

I'd say it's a decent price, I mean, what I'm paying, it's going for on ebay :( And I'm getting all this new :-\

iv found myself recently to get bored of single player games, i got dark messiah and it rules, oblivion too but after a few days i dont play any more and im barely anywhere forward in the game. mmo's are great because of the community and always having someone to chat with, i miss the banter when playing single player games now

Agreed, Wiggi, I got so used to the community in Everquest, Warcraft 3, and Counter Strike regular games can barely hold my attention. That's one of the first thing I ask about games anymore, "How is the multiplayer?", because I know that's all I'll end up using.

It`s a futuristic war simulator, but it was made in 2002. The gameplay is freakin` awesome, must`ve played the game at least 5 times so far, and I`m playing it again :D

true that, sometimes i wish the ships would move faster.

Here are some of my suggestions which are pretty easy to get into and quite fun to play

Team Fortress 2 (comes with orange box which includes portal as well or can buy online standalone from steam)
AudioSurf (need to buy on steam 10$)
Portal (comes with orange box which includes tf2 as well or can buy online standalone from steam)
