This school year is almost over, and I will most likely start to play some games over the summer given an almost game-free school year. What games should I put on my list?
Games I already own:
Fallout 3 (played for a bit, wasn't a big fan)
Oblivion (got stuck after 20 hours)
Call of Duty World At War
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
Medieval 2 Total War
Orange Box

Orange Box.
Lots of gaming goodness in one orange box to occupy pretty much your entire summer. -
Empire total war.
-
Crysis Maximum Edition 3 games and many hours of gaming
-
Hawx and il2 1946.
-
Farcry. Its a bit old but its cheap and hands down the best game I have played.

Got a console? If yes I can list up a nice bunch of great games coming soon and avalible now.
Prototype is one multiplatformer coming to all three next month. (PS3/X360/PC)
However, E3 is also just a month away .. so we might hear some news then. -
i am kind of in the same boat...only i am a teacher. i managed to beat fallout 3 before coaching began and have a good dent in oblivion.
i just ordered a new laptop so i will probably play through diablo 1 and 2 again just for fun and maybe FINALLY buy the expansion for warcraft 3 -
I am playing GTA 4 right now, pretty entertaining.
-
COD4 just got a price cut too...If you like FPS online shooters
-

EVE Online (mainly)
Left 4 Dead (mainly)
Team Fortress 2 (mainly)
Battlefield 2
Day of Defeat: Source
Bioshock
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

For those to recommended FPS shooters.... I'm not a good FPS shooter player at all. I've played CoD MW and WaW for a long long time, and I still don't understand why, with all the time I spend playing/practicing, I literally get killed every other second...
-
Sims3, although not many guys into this game.
-
Some of these games have probably been mentioned but...
Warhammer 40K DoW2
GTA IV
Demigod
Neverwinter Nights 2 + Expansions
Sins of a Solar Empire
Red Alert 3
Command & Conquer 3
Mirror's Edge -
Im looking to get:
Crysis
Empire total war
Il2
World in Conflict -
I'm going to be spending my summer hoping that Dragon Age: Origins gets pushed a little earlier so I can finally hop on and ravish it. Failing which, I guess I'm gonna be settling for a summer spent playing old games. The question is - what SORT of games do you like? It'd seem that you're an FPS fan, but don't really play nice with sandbox/open-ended games. Have you tried:
Assassin's Creed (yeah, yeah, not a shooter, but it is pretty linear and bumming around on rooftops is pretty fun for the first few hours)
Mirror's Edge (same logic)
Uhm. Dead Space? It's not especially difficult, like COD4 on Veteran is, and it's very, VERY linear. -
i found Warhammer4000 Dawn of War 2 surprisingly fun
-
Crysis
Call of Duty W@W
Hopefully resident evil 5
Left 4 dead
Any other ideas? -
I can't wait until Batman Arkham Asylum comes out since they are using original voice actors from the Animated Series, but it got delayed until the end of the summer (I think around August???).
Other than that I would recommend Hitman Blood Money, Battlefield Heroes if you can get a beta key, the Godfather II looks kinda cool, Far Cry 2 is entertaining, and maybe Wanted. I would just look for bargain bin games, and deals on Steam weekly. -
Summer gaming list?
