Are they releasing this as an entirely new game? Should be DLC in my opinion.

It should be a new game. I mean this is really a major upgrade to a fighter, 8 new characters itself holds enough water to be considered a new game. No word on a PC release yet though, however Sven from Capcom told people on Capcom-Unity that he was trying to get the company to "PCize" more. On top of that with DMC3/4 SFIV and RE4/5 all making it to PC there is a good chance this will as well.
I just hope it supports cross platform play, and the new online modes are gonna be sick. On top of that, new ultras and buffing of chars should make things more interesting.
Check out the video on the online modes:

    ^

I doubt it will support cross platform play. It's not even compatible with SFIV.

well the player base for sf4 on pc is just...wow.
I play it regularly but seriously there are times where i have to scout for about 5 mins before i can find a 3 bar connection opponent in any mode.
There are ton of people playing from europe/japan so it wouldnt make sense to play them because the game turns to a slideshow.

Hopefully they will optimize it better, I mean the benchmark could barely run at medium high settings on my iMac and I can max full blow 3D world games like mass effect, unreal 3, CoD4, etc) makes no sense to me.

I think it was optimized pretty well, i cant play it with maxed settings but the fixed fps really helps.

I got the first one, I wouldn't say it was a waist of my money but it was not worth it ether. They needed to do a bit more with the server system for PC and the player base just made it so hard to enjoy as a casual player.

You fight guys that are so pro you cant lay a finger on them making the game unfun to play. Then finally after 2 hours and 20 guys later you finally find somebody near your skill level and you manage to beat them 2 times in a row so they rage quit and your back to fighting elite no lifes again.

This is pretty much the experience I had with SF4 every time I got on to play, also it was lacking super simple no brainer PC options like the ability to mute the microphone or push to talk as a feature and plagued with horrible control problems like no 2 player keyboard and not accepting many 3rd party PC gamepads.

I will not be rushing to buy this game, after a few people have played the guinea pig for me I may get it if they fixed all the short comings of the first one on PC, and that is if this even comes to PC.

Shame it floped, I was really excited to see an online PC fighter, I built a 2 man arcade system and this was going to be the heart of it, but it was quickly back to Mame because SF4 did not even work with my arcade setup due to the control issues I mentioned.

Well i suppose there were issues with it but really i was happy with my purchase. I play on keyboard and over time i did get better and better, and i still play regularly. I just hate the fact that i cant find enough people with good connections to play.

If this game does come out on PC i will def. get it as it does look promising, but yeah i will wait a week or so after release to find out what its like.
On top of that i hope they have Guy and Cody from SFA in it, that would be sweet.

I will buy this for sure. $40 or less for a new game with more modes. They even said they're giving a bonus to people who already own SF4.

BTW. I love street fighter so I'm biased.

This game will not be retail price.

I think this is a decent deal. I picked up SF4 at gamestop brand new for $20 about 4 months ago. It was a weekend only special.
