I tipped some of the larger blogs about it, but they haven't reported anything yet. I found details on supreme commander 2, including an image here.

One of the GPG members has retyped the text for readability:

It sounds as though they're scaling it back a bit. Not something that characterizes Supreme Commander, but maybe it'll end up better in the end. I just hope they have proper support for it, unlike Forged Alliance.

Anywho, the full article is at my tech blog (which I can't link to, per the forum rules, but the URL is in my signature) if anyone wants to take a look. I'm pretty excited for it, any other SupCom fans here?

I'm still waiting for my computer to arrive so I can play it... =(. The boxes are open and the cds are itching to be loaded.

Sounds like I will be buying this one. Actually, I still need the first one, but I don't know if the online community is still active.

BEWARE the online matches, they can take awhile.

Also, note the game and expansion are available on Impulse for an affordable 30 bucks.

    Also, YAY! I liked SupCom.

To me, this is a plus. You actually play a thought-out game, instead of a 10 minute tank sprint.

Yup, they usually last a good half hour to an hour. I see no problem with that though :)

I've been waiting for SC2 so long that I didn't believe that it'd ever be released. After watching vids/ reading the manual for this game it seems so much more in depth than SC2 will ever be. It has 4 dimensions, (land, air, sea, and space) and incredible resource management. I'm going to be a little sad if they dumb this game down a lot. I love severely complex games, it leaves more room to separate the casual gamers from the extremely skilled.

Damn straight,! Hurra for TA,SC, Homeworld and other micromanagement games that can sap hours of ones time :) Only this week did I brush the dust of SC and replay it. If SC2 lacks economic management then it will be a sad day. May as well call the game Demi God 2.

Actually I was referring to the dumbing down of SupCom 2. I've watched the battlereports from the first 2 public released SC2 matches. It looks exactly the same as SC with upgraded graphics, new units, and a couple bonus things (special minerals you have to kill terrain to get access to and xel naga watchtowers that you can capture to remove some fog of war). I was actually a little depressed, seeing as there really aren't any new game mechanics. I figured after 12 years they could have at least made it a bit more complicated, if SC had the same editor as WC3, "SC2" could have been made 11 years ago.

Yeah, I'm all for SupCom 2 running on a cheaper system, but I'd hate for them to dumb it down. I guess we won't know for sure until we get a beta release.

Just make sure you've got a monster of a system, that game's a true system hog.
