Whao - how are they gonna do this? Supreme commander on the XBOX 360? It's difficult enough with keyboard/mouse controls to control everything, not to mention the extreme CPU/GPU overhead required with all the units.

I can't imagine how well this will translate to a console.

Let alone how well the console could handle extremely high unit counts. My e6600 with a 8800 GTX even has trouble with uber-large armies.

Simple, they will limit the # of units that can be on the map at one time. I.e. Build limits etc... It will probably not be @ a true 1080 resolution as well but a 'interpolated' upscale.

The difference is that the PC is scalable. Whereas the XBox360 is not.

Scalable how? 1000 units are 1000 units any way you look at it. Slower PC's won't limit you to 100 units instead of 1000. Yes you can dumb down the graphics some, but its a CPU hog due to the massive number of units.

A PC is 'scalable' in the fact that you can upgrade the CPU and the GFX. With an XBox360 there is no such option. You might consider that the title will be playable and 'backwards compatable' with whatever the new Xbox is going to be but thats just vapor atm. The PC will always become more powerful.

The Xbox360 version will more than likely be scaled down (in terms of unit #'s and graphics) so that it doesn't get bogged down.
