I asked because I tried the demo of Supreme Commander and the interface is far to slow for the pace of the game.
You try to attack, build units and building at same time, but can't because when you want to build anything you have to find the builder (i.e: engineer or building)...it sucks.

Supreme Commander is a game that is best played on two screens with a mega powerful system that doesn't start to bog down when the match is 1/2 way over.

I like both, but I have to recommend COH if you like shorter, more tactical battles.

SupCom is an awesome game, but tactical/no base building is trendy right now. That's not to say CoH isn't a great game, just that it is different. I would say for their respective types of games, they are equally good.

i have not played CoH but have Supreme Commander and im loving it, i love how long the battles are and everything, though im about 4 hours into a match with me against 6 AI commanders, i have just killed one and near to killing a second and my Frames Per Second have dive bombed from around 30-40 Frames Per Second to 1-10 Frames Per Second. but im still loving it.

Ahhh, CoH is the way to go. Nothing like killing Germans and yelling at Nazis to end the day.

Supreme Commander is about epic-sized wars with thousands of units on both sides while CoH is more about micromanaging smaller numbers of non-expendable units.

It really depends on your preferences, get both if you can afford them as both are solid entertainment.

Exactly. I'd recommend getting both too. That way, when you need a break from one, you can get a different experinece with the other. :) Oh, and you should get the expansions for both games.

I was going to suggest trying out the demos for both games before deciding which to get, but seems like you already tried the SC demo and hated it. If that is the case than I would suggest not getting SC (since I have also tried the demo AND the full game, I have to say if you hated the demo then you'll probably hate the full game, at least that's what happened to me anyways...)

On the other hand I also did the same for CoH (tried both the demo AND the full game, I like both of them... :) )

I'd say go for Company Of Heroes.

Granted I love Supreme Commander, the epic battles you can have, I doubt that's the typical person's cup of tea.

In my humble opinion, Company of Heroes is by far the more attractive game between the two.

The problem with Supreme Commander is I feel like I'm playing Simcity. There isn't the adrenaline pumping frenzy of Starcraft.

CoH is like UaW. Less to do with base management and more micromanaging your units. Both, IMO are more satisfying than watching wave after wave of micro robots screwing each other.

SupCom is defered rewards. Long build up, big pay off. CoH is more instant gratification. Not suprising that so many people like CoH more.

Sitting there for 4hours (for just 1 game) is rather sickening.. but that's my preference.. I enjoy 4 games of dota in 4 hours more.

But get both if u can.. it'll just hurt ya wallet, nothing else :D

company of heroes all the way, it's the best RTS i've ever played!, and this's coming from someone who played many great RTS games like supreme commander, C&C series, AoE series and RoN....supreme commander is still great but it's a little bit too static and doesn't have the sheer amount of awsomeness and action found in CoH..

SupCom is about setting a strategy and taking slow, deliberate action. CoH is about quick tactical engagements. SupCom is like being the general in charge of an entire theater of battle while CoH is like being company commander. I think both are good, but I slightly prefer SupCom. They are different games at a fundemental level, so I think it is hard to say one is better than the other.

    CoH FTW&Universe!
Like Sirmet wrote; CoH is more tactics then strategy, SupCom(a) is much more stategy imo.
CoH is more hardware friendly then SupCom where a high number of units would break down fps drastically.
Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of fun with SupCom but CoH is a game I continue to play.

CoH is, besides exciting, beautifull and well thought through also very funny at times.
"Join the Army they said, it will be fun they said, if I see one more bag of ****in' doit".
"I'm walking around like a ungelernte arbeiter, I could have been a Luftwaffe ace, you know".......buy the game and you'll understand. :D

Besides, what's more fun then blastin' the **** out of Nazi's with a couple of 155mm howitzers. :) :D

CoH gives you many "dude, that was so cool when I flanked that unit and shot the crap out of that tank!" while SupCom give you fewer "dude, I just broke the back of that army that has put up a 5 hour fight." If you can appreciate the experience of long fights and fewer big payoffs, SupCom is for you. Anyone that has ever built an army of super units and seen them trample across the map knows what I mean. CoH gives you many small payoffs. Neither is "better", just different.

It's also worth noting that with SupCom's expansion (Forged Alliance) the interface is much better and significantly less annoying IMO.

Ughh, I can't imagine sitting through 4 hours of just one game, same map, same opponent. It sounds like those massively long Big Game Hunter maps.

COH by far (I own both).

I loved COH so much that I played through both the campaign and expansion campaign twice trying to get all the medals.

I haven't even gotten more than 2 hours into Supreme Commander.
