I've downloaded the demo and intend to buy the retail version when I go home next year. I'm using the 169.04 drivers and don't wish to overclock. I've played the demo on the high fidelity preset on 1440x900 resolution and the game feels relatively smooth.

I'd like opinions from other forum users on which resolution and settings I should pick for the best picture quality while still maintaining decent frame rates. The demo isn't the best benchmark as I'm aware that the game can get really huge in scope when maps start getting larger. See my signature for more details on what kind of system I'm using to run the demo.

From my experience, shadows cause most of the performance hit in the game. Reducing the shadow options usually yields some more FPS.

But one thing I've found about the game is that it usually slows right the way down as soon as a lot starts happening on screen, no matter what settings that you're using.

What's an ot? Do you think I can raise the resolution to native while keeping shadows off and everything else the same?

    Ooops, I meant 'a l ot'.

You can do that, I'm not sure what the performance will be like though.

Anyone else out there with suggestions on how high I can raise the settings on WSXGA resolution? Should I settle for the 1440x900 resolution compensated by the higher image quality?

Update: I'm now running the demo on native with the same quality settings as before. Could someone out there who has the retail version tell me if this will give me playable framerates in the last campaign mission? I've read that that mission is the true benchmarking standard for this game and want to know if my current settings will go beyond 2 players on a really small map.

I apologise for the bump, but does anyone with the retail version have any fps benchmarks for the last campaign mission?
