So i've noticed a trend in notebook lcds ive been looking at. Watching a blank winxp screensaver (or any dark scene) I notice they all have light bleeding from both top left and right corners and the bottom part of the screen towards the middle. I've seen this in the new clevos, the screenshots of the new gateway (sold at bestbuy with 8800 gts) posted in the review section and my old compaq notebook.

Also viewing angles are horrible vertically and horizontally. If looking from the top you will see a very greyish white screen. Are these common properties of a particular type of lcd panel? I just sold my fujitsu to my friend and the lcd on this was terrific. No light leakage. Awesome viewing angles vertically and horizontally (except looking from bottom). Better contrast, brightness, gamma, color etc.. Better screen than any other ive seen. So what makes the fujitsu stand so far out from these other crappy lcds ive been looking at?

I want an 8800 along with something as good as the fujitsu lcd. Is it possible to just get a notebook then replace the crap lcd with a fujitsu one?
