    Which of the following turn-based strategy space games would you recommend:

    - Sword of the Stars
    - Galactic Civilizations 2

    Thanks.

    Gal Civ 2 because I have it with the two expansions. It is truly a really good game.

    This is a no brainer. Galciv 2 is one of the greatest games of all time.

    But what about multiplayer? What if you want a game of multiplayer with someone? That is the one thing that attracted me to Sword of the Stars, for the occasional multiplayer match.

    GalCiv 2 for any singleplayer case.

    If you want multiplayer you'd have to choose Sword of the Stars.

    Really a shame that Stardock didn't have the time to turn GalCiv2 into a multiplayer game, but I understand that the balancing would be pretty nuts.

    I'd suggest;
    Single Player - Galactic Civilzations 2
    Multi Player - Sin of a Solar Empire

    good luck

    Wonder if a multiplayer mode will ever be added to GalCiv 2?

    Well that is an important piece of criteria you should have included in your original post now, isn't it?

    Then I too would have suggested Sins of a Solar Empire. It's got great multiplayer and a not-so-great single player mode due to it lacking a campaign mode. Although Ironclad have loosely stated they plan to do a single player story driven campaign in an upcoming update.

    I own both SoaSE and GCII so I end playing based on whatever I'm in the mood for.
