I"m getting a new computer soon--it's an Asus V2S. Specs follow. I've been asked if it will play Syberia I and II and Indigo Prophecy. I have no clue and have been unable to find an answer via Google. Can anyone answer this? I'll uninstall Norton and put Kaspersky Internet Security on. I'll also install Quick Books Pro 2007 and MS Office Ultimate 2007. I have a special database software I will also use on it, called Office Therapy--it's a database for health care billing and accounting. Don't even know if I"ll have room for any games--will I? And if so, will these run? (I'm not a gamer, but a family member is). Thanks!

With 8600m Gs indigo prophecy will play fine definitely. My gradma's laptop can run that game; literally, she has x300 in her laptop and it ran on all high at decent res, the game isn't all that demanding at all. What worries me is Vista, I am not sure if the game is compatible under Vista. The "External", I am guessing they meant "dedicated as in , excluded from system memory.

Syberia I and II will run perfectly terms of graphics; they're both 2D games with 3D character models, and require pretty minimal specs to run.
Vista could be an issue here though; I personally have only run both games under XP. I believe you might be alright if they're run under Compatibility Mode within Vista (this is a feature which simulates an XP running environment, useful for older games).
Incidentally, you have a 160GB hard drive in that computer, which is enormous in terms of what you're using the computer for.
You'll have tons of room for any games.

Thanks for your thoughts. I have never used Vista and don't know what to expect. I don't have any idea what Compatibility Mode is. Perhaps I shouldn't even put the disks in--I don't want games to mess up my new computer. But I have to admit, the games seem like they might be fun. I haven't done any gaming, but thought I might try it. Maybe not, eh?

Indigo Prophecy runs flawless for me on Vista.

Oh the game won't mess up your PC susan, it just won't run correctly. Please by no means should you give up on those games before even trying installing it. Under Vista it might or might not work, that you will have to try yourself since I don't have the game with me atm. To change compatibility, right click on the game shortcut click "Property" then Compatibility Tab, check the box, then select Windows Xp under the drop down menu. Personally, I enjoy Indigo Prophecy VERY VERY much, it's such an awesome triller style adventure RPG. I love the story and the characters. I played the European version of Indigo Prophecy which was named "Fahrenheit", well it's a weird name but it's still a good game.
