Recently I just started getting some stuttering issues when I play C&C3. However my laptop does not shut down... Can this still be a symptom of overheating?

Artifacts, like some spots and lines one the textures [sometimes it's not a sign of overheating but a driver issue].
    System instability.

Yes artifacts like mujtaba said are a clear sign of a problem with the gpu(most likely overheating).
A good way to scan for artifacts is with ATItool(supports Nvidia cards)

    Thanks for the reply :)

Just wondering if there is any free software to measure my GPU temp? I am using Notebook Hardware Control but it only measures my CPU and HDD temps

I use rivatuner for mine.... can you report your GPU temps once you get a chance? Mine @ full load is about 83 C seems kinda hot... But I checked my threshold and it's at 127 C.

Mine hovers at 70 degree celcius and below, playing C&C3 :) Should be quite a good temp I guess

    Using Geforce Go 7700
