Here are some of my system details
gpu: 256 mb 8600 GT gddr3
System: M1530
Current drivers (pre-installled by Dell):
Version - 7.15.11.5663
Date - 12-09-2007
OS: Win Vista 32 bit
I tried to install the latest drivers first thru Laptop2video following the procedure given. Yes, I did rplace the inf file and uninstalled the previos drivers before upgrading. But, after rebooting the system starts looking like XP and even the appearance settings on the desktop show only XP menu. All vista effects are also gone and my display is totally screwed
So, I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for 800 series from their official site and when I tried to install them I got the error " This software is for Win Vista 32. The system you are running is not Winvista 32".
Please tell me what do i need to do to update my Nvidia drivers
PS: For now I have rolled back my drivers to the preinstalled ones
Thanks in advance

Have you read the sticky concerning Upgrading video card drivers? If not, read it. If you are still having problems feel free to put it there.
