System startup hangs at windows 7 rotating aquacircle...after 260.99 install, desktop never loads.

Downloaded drivers Nvidia GeForce GT 230M v260.99 from
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/5146163-post1.html

    My PC specs...
    dv8t / Windows 7 Pro 64-bit / 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 230M / Intel Q720 / 6GB DDR3 / (2) SATA 500 GB drives
    Restored version: GT 230M v258.96
    Current Bios: F25

    My v260.99 Installation / Un-installation Notes...
Followed instructions from Nvidia forum at...
    http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=169555
    Install Method: "Express Install [Recommended]

Add'l symptoms AFTER v260.99 has been installed...

System CAN load IF I am in SAFE MODE or when in SAFE MODE I open "System Configuration" / Services... I uncheck: Desktop Windows Manager Session Mgr...then rebootthe system... it will then fully load in normal mode.
If I then go into "Services' & attempt to restart DWM.exe in normal mode, I get a MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Error. It refuses to start.

    Misc. info...
    Reason I updated from 258.96 to v260.99...
Occasional BSODs (every couple of days or so)- nvlddmkm.sys issues per below report...

Approx 1-2 times a day: System will "lock up" & then I have to "force" shutdown.

I keep "minutes" on just about everything I do to my PC on a daily basis. There is NO pattern to the "lock ups" or BSOD's except that I usually have a few windows opened or minimized & have 1 or 2 graphic apps or 3D app running (again, no pattern to the apps running)

NOTE: I have had the above symptoms with ALL versions of Nvidia GeForce GT 230M drivers since the beginning when I first purchased the dv8 in December 2009.This is my 2nd dv8 [returned the first].I have kept it because I have read on various forums etc. that the reason this pc has issues is because the configuration is still very new.I hoped eventually all of the issues would resolve.
