    Hello everybody,

I just got a T61p the other day, but for budgetary reasons I had to get the 14.1 inch with the fx 570m that only has 128mb instead of the better configuration. I ran 3DMark06 (on default setting) and got 2462 points with the 163.71 drivers.

    My specs are: Intel T7300 (2ghz w/ 4mb cache), 2GB DDR2 SDRAM (@667MHz), nvidia quadro fx570m (w/ 128mb), 14.1" SXGA+ TFT LCD (1400 x 1050 resolution), 120GB (5400rpm hdd), etc., on WinXP Pro 32bit.

I've been looking around trying to find information on my computer but most posts are on the T61p with the FX 570M 256MB version which some people claim to be getting 3400+ points on 3DMark06.

My question would be: Is this as good as it gets with a 128MB FX 570M? Did anybody get better results? If so, what configuration and drivers did they use?

I would appreciate any answers/comments! Thanks.

Hmm. Are you running off battery? Is powermizer on?

Now that you mention it, powermizer is on. And I keep changing it to max performance but when I open it again it keeps going back to Max saving... weird. Thanks for that though.

The score is correct. The FX 570M on the 14" T61p is gimped with a 64bit memory interface instead of the 128bit found on the 15.4" model.

Should be still fine for gaming at 1024x768 though.

I guess I never thought there would be 1000+ points difference b/w a 128mb version and a 256mb version of the same card. oh well.

I love the dimensions of the Thinkpads though. Great quality.

Just to contribute to the thread, my T61p 3Dmark06 score is 3965. I just rebuilt it with Windows XP and installed only the default drivers for everything, via ThinkVantage System Update 3.10, which includes nvidia driver version 6.14.11.5666. I've attached screenshots of the results. I'm quite pleased, I thought I might have to use tweaked drivers and/or overclocking to get a score like that.

That's interesting. I got the about the same score running on vista 64 bit. Altho the bit extra on the cpu prob was the diff.
