Hi everyone. First off, I'd just like to let it be known that I truly appreciate the efforts and enthusiasm of this forum. It's my first post, but I've gone through countless posts that has led to many helpful answers.
Anyways, I just tried my hand at overclocking for the first time today, finally getting a 3dMark06 score of 5491 by using nTune and settings of 650/1000. I run the Thinkpad Fan Control Utility v.050 with fan settings going to 64 when at 70C. My questions are:

    1. Are my overclocking settings too daring? From what I hear, most people have been keeping it to about 600/900. This is my only computer, so I'm trying not to destroy it too quickly, or else I won't have anything else to use for work and school. Right now, my primary reasons for overclocking is boosted performance in graphics intensive games such as Bioshock and Crysis. So far, with bioshock on 1440x900 and maximum settings, nTune has shown a max temp of 81C. Which leads to the next question...

    2. What is a safe temperature that I should aim for? I know that 110C is the absolute no no as far as the soldering bits of the GPU is concerned, but forums seem to recommend sub 80. And, more importantly, does nTune report these temperatures accurately?

    3. Is there any way for nTune to display gpu temps in-game? As of now, I just use the event logger, but it would be much more useful if I could just keep track of it during the game...

    4. Would a laptop cooler be a lot more practical and safe for what I'm doing, especially since I'm running the fan utility at 64 for a good majority of my gaming? Going through the notebook cooler guide, it seems like the zalman nc2000 is a good fit. Any suggestions?

    5. Bonus question: is it at all possible to run crysis on the t61p at dx10 with very high settings and playable fps? I can run the demo in dx9 with all high settings with somewhat decent settings, but I want the experience...

    6. Bonus question: While I'm on a roll...I somehow deleted nearly all the shortcuts in my start menu "All Programs". So now, I need to navigate to my Program Files to start an application, which is annoying. Is there someway to fix this? (By the way, I use Vista 32 Business)

I've to give you guys a lot of thanks for everything. These forums have really helped me out, even though I'm one of the silent members of the community. I'm just posting now because I've had a hard time getting straight answers to these questions. Sorry this post is so long.

I'll try to answer a few.
I can't really comment on overclocking since I have no experience of it.
I think rivatuner can display your temps in real time. search within the forum for a guide.
NO current computer can play Crysis at very high dx10 at high res. Not even desktops with 8800ultras slid.
