I`ve been looking at the review done by notebookcheck and comparing
Its the exact same notebook for both, yet the 680M runs 7-11 °C cooler than 675M. Notebookcheck states TDP = 100W for both, but is this true for most real life scenarios (gaming)?
Its quite amazing that a GPU that is 45%+ faster than GPU B is running so much cooler.![]()

i think it has to do with that new hyperq feature.

basically it help distribute the workload accross the whole card all of the time.
-
Cool. Seems like its working pretty good
I originally wanted a 75W GPU but maybe the 680M isn`t so far away -
GTC 2012 Keynote (Part 03): The NVIDIA Kepler GPU Architecture - YouTube here this explains it, im not sure if this is whats actually going on though.

It's actually 28nm vs 45nm, but close enough.
-
manufacturing process is 28nm vs 40nm.

great to hear... I'll be monitoring this thread

There is a 680m vs 7970m article on notebook check. It compares the two in a schenker and also throws in some Alienware m17x 7970m in there to show how much enduro has been hurting performance.

Very interesting that the 7970m is still neck and neck with 680m, even in BF3 which seems to plague most users with unexplainable dips in FPS.
TDP of GTX 680M
