Ive tried different drivers, reinstalling the game, what should I do? If there really is nothing I can do I guess I can live with it since it only happens in the menu but I find it stupid that I paid so much money for this laptop that can run crysis but not TF2. If you need the model its the gateway 7805u. And Im sorry for posting this for the second time I just really want to solve this. Drivers Ive tried are 179 from nvidia and 185 from laptopvideo2go 3 times each. Should I just call valves technical support?

Try disabling Steam Community In-Game. To do this go to View-Settings-In Game and uncheck the box. This worked for my problem with TF2.

This is the third thread you have made on this issue. I already told you not to cross-post. Read the forum rules.
A few things,
First of all, you seemed to be successful in finding a driver that didn't crash:
Why don't you use that one?
Second, your overclocking my have something to do with it: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=338290
Third, are you monitoring your temps? Your computer may be overheating.
Fourth, TF2 relies heavily on the CPU, so it may be your CPU downclocking. Make sure your power settings are set to "High Performance". (this is unlikely though)
Fifth, disable Steam Community In-Game. It causes issues with many games.
If you're having so many instability issues, try using stock OEM drivers. They're usually the most stable, albeit not geared towards the best performance. -
All the drivers I have tried crashed shortly after I thought it was ok. That one did after my thread died.
The overclocking did squat so I put it back to default.
Highest Temp I ever had was 73. Its usually 64 in-game
How do I go back to stock drivers(this would be my last resort)
I am sorry for posting this again but my last thread is 2 days old isnt it? I was guessing it would be dead by now.
I am on high performance
I am going to try disabling in-game community and this time I will do much more tests and I will try to fit them in before this thread dies. -
I see. It would be helpful to post that in one of the older threads to people that helped you get to that point can continue to help you instead of making new threads.
Again, it would be good to post that. The last we heard from you on the matter was this and this.
Ok, then it's not a GPU overheating issue.
Check your manufacturers website.

You can bump your thread if nobody has responded within 24 hours, but your thread isn't going to die or get closed if it's older than 2 days.
Ok, good.
This thread will only die if you don't post back and report on whether or not this will make a difference, so be sure to let us know if that did the trick or if you're still having trouble. -
Thank you all for your help! I re-installed my drivers, disabledd in-game community and uninstalled avg and now after 8 tests of at least 10 minutes each of gaming I have had no freezing. Thanks again and Im sorry about the triple post thing crash.

Glad to hear it works
And don't worry about it, everybody has their little slip-ups at the beginning.
TF2 keeps freezing!
