ASUS G71v just added 2 seagate 500gb Momentus. I'm sure they are working fine in raid - as I'm getting an average of 110MB transfer rate. I reinstalled windows with the asus CD, and also reinstalled my drivers. Driver install completed, but took 1.5 hours<not sure if that's part of the issue.
So when I got my laptop and hooked it up with Team fortress 2, it played beautifully after I removed the hotkeys. But after setting up raid 0 on my 2 seagates, the game lags horribly every time a new sound is played. After it has been played, it wont lag again for that particular sound. I'm getting around 80fps, and it's maddening to see it drop to 0 when I switch a class, or use a new voice command. Anyone have this issue, or know what's going on?

It's possible to pre-cache all the sounds beforehand in your RAM, but it would take a lot of work on your part to make it happen.

Have you noticed any other issues with your setup in games, applications, etc?

No other issues with my games. I re-installed it, and it no longer lags at sounds, now it's more random. When I put my old hard drive back in, it played perfectly on the same settings. In fact TF2 plays just fine when I make a server and run around in it, but multiplayer lags for no reason. Will have a ping of <40 with 80 fps, then bam, nothing
