Steam just finished downloading a new Team Fortress 2 update. No class updates or new weapons this time, but they've tweaked plenty:
I think I'm going to be rolling Medic tonight. I've been neglecting that class for a while, and there's definitely never too many Medics.
- The Heavy can now drop Sandviches with alt-fire. Picked-up Sandviches heal whomever grabs them by 50%. To replenish his Sandvich after dropping, the Heavy must grab a health kit while already at maximum health.
- The Medic's base self-regeneration rate has increased from 1hp/sec to 3hp/sec. The Blutsauger, instead of having no crits, reduces health by 2hp/sec, so a medic equipped with the Blutsauger regenerates at the old 1hp/sec base rate. And yes, this means the Blutsauger can now crit.
- Most of the other stuff is minor. More backpack slots, the ability to disable weather effects for low-end graphics, adjusted explosion radii, and finally, the Cheater's Lament halo does not give away cloaked Spies.

Happy to see that the fixed the Spy Halo thing. Gonna miss spotting cloaked spies and beating them to death with my wrench.

A good Medic + Assault class combo will benefit far more from 3 HP/sec regeneration than if the medic had the Blutsauger. Good change. The Medic always dies before the player, this will be especially devastating with Heavies.

Depends on the server, I play on pretty casual servers and I often find the guy I'm medicing will overextend and die (or the enemy will just kill them first because they don't focus on me or I am well protected) and I'll have to fall back with the blutsauger to stay alive and keep my uber progress.
-
Yeah, I'm going to roll with the old syringe gun for a while tonight and see how it goes. The Blutsauger is unstoppable for a backpedaling retreat, though, especially with crits now.
-
I suppose. The 2 servers I frequent both have the best Soldiers I've ever played with in TF2 so when I hop on with them as Medic with a Kritz we usually singlehandedly win the map. I'm not an amazing Medic or anything -- I'm good, but with the right Soldier and a Kritz you can roll through 6, 7 players per charge on offense and completely clear an area on defense. I usually die and then by the time I respawn and go back to the area I was in, one guy in particular is always still alive just waiting for me to get back. Medic is never as fun when you're paired with a very good Kritz Demo or Soldier, try it sometime.

Thanks for letting us know. It's bad that they didn't add more stuff to it but I'm not complaining. I'm happy with the changes they made.
