Okay, so I've been searching alot of the forums to check if anyone has managed to get their lappys with X3100 to run Team Fortress 2. Apparently, it can. I have a 2.0 processr and 1 gig ram running vista via bootcamp. I was wondering if anyone has managed to run it using that sort of specs? I don't want to use crossover, and I can't use XP because I don't have it..

I've tried doing the dxlevel 80 thing, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm getting an average of 5-10 fps... it's soo choppy. So can anyone help?

Will getting more ram help significantly?

    Try dxlevel 70.

Upgrading the RAM to 2gb will only give you a boost of a few fps. But given the current price of RAM, that's not a bad payoff.

As always, try looking for better drivers for the x3100.

Well I have the latest drivers for vista, I'm wondering if that's good or bad?

And I am running it at dxlevel 80, so I guess i'll try level 70.

Has anyone else done any configuring or whatnots?

the ram upgrade should help alot. 1 gig is simply not enough to game with vista.

I couldn't give you an estimate but lets just say alot. Normally its recommended you have 2 gigs just to run vista because it can take anywhere from 400-7,800 mbs of ram depending on what you have running and how much you have optimized. Even mine which I pretty much optimized and I could get a few more programs but basically it uses about 400-450 when browsing the web. Now team fortress 2 uses about 500 mbs so your cutting it fine.

The dxlevel 8 will not work as a command line. You have to set up an autoexec.cfg file and tell it to run at dxlevel 8. I created a thread about it. You can find it with the search feature.

Hmm okay thanks. But I have a question: What is it that determines the FPS?
e.g processor, graphics card, ram, etc

    They're all interdependent.

    Graphics card, mainly.
