Team Fortress 2 + Rest of Orange Box

Hey guys so I just recently puchased The Orange Box and TF2 is absolutely amazing, it runs great on my T61 with it on medium-high and I've been playing it last night/today and am loving every minute of it. I've only played dustbowl because every post about TF2 that I have read has mentioned that map and its awesome but I was wondering if you guys who play had any recommendations on other maps to play? I still really havn't found my favorite class to play yet, I thought it would be spy because I heard for newcomers to TF2 its pretty easy to get into the game by masking yourself and going and getting kills.

I for one didn't really like it and have been playing as Eng/Med/Pyro and would have to say those are my favorite classes. I am so happy I bought the Orange Box, I messed around a but in Portal and that is such a new experience it was tons of fun.

I've previously completed half of Half-Life 2 but I Don't remember what really happens so I started another play through and can't wait to finish it and get to the episodes to see how those are as well. Overall, this was probably my best purchase ever for gaming. Even better than BF2 in which I played as apart of a tournament for about two years and I havn't even had The Orange Box for a week yet.

 

I find Spy to be the hardest class to play as, since it's pretty easy to get caught. Usually engineers and such will shoot anyone who comes in near their sentries, just to check for spies, and pyros can set you on fire, making your cloak useless. I really recommend playing Payload on Gold Rush. I absolutely love that mode!

 

I personally enjoy Pyro and the fan-made map Convoy. Get it over at FPSbanana.com.

Oh, and ENVY at your config being able to play TF2 fluidly. Mine still hiccups every now and again on 1024x576 High 0x AA/AF No HDR.

 

Lol my friends practically FORCED me to get a better connection, because b4 i was getting backstabs by stabbing people in the FRONT because of lag. And as for Pyros that flame me i Backstab them as well.

 

Spy is an exercise in frustration to play. To get familiar with maps and be useful you can be a medic and heal people. A pyro with backburner is pretty easy to play since he has a ton of health too.

 

Spy should be the last class you master

they actually removed the health bonus on the backburner today. sucks lol. now you could argue that the default flamethrower is better.

 

Ronkmorris do u know if the spy kit is out?

 

it's not. they just did a bug fix update really.
