Team Fortress 2 - All new Pyro and Map Info

VALVe has release a website with info on the new Pyro weapons, achievements and maps.

I like the names of the new achievements.

 

Alot of these achivements are so uninspired

I wish valve would put more though into it and actually amend for the mistakes they made with the medic.

On the plus side the weapons are awesome.

 

Well they did, now you only have to complete 25 of the 35 to unlock all the weapons.

 

i wish they would release it at midnight ;p

Pretty decent updates. It is good to see Steam keeping the game fresh by adding new maps and new weapons. The flare gun looks good, a lot like the incendiary rockets from TFC.

 

Time to buy TF2 i guess. lets hope my sister finds it at the airport, since all versions sold here are pirated

Once I get back from work I'm logging in to Steam so I can update too.

 

i was playn when the update came out and 3 seconds later we were doing 15 vs 15 pyro... i have a feeling theres gonna be A LOT of pyro's... felt fun for a bit, then just got dull.

also it seems as though the stock flamethrower does a lot more critical damage hits because i was killin ;p

Got all 3 weapon upgrades. Haven't played with the Axetinguisher yet but the Backburner is a freaking monster. Guaranteed crits from behind.

 

Wow how did you get them so fast? I played for five hours and didn't even get the first one.

I spent about an hour in a LAN server with bots.

 

I thought TF2 didn't have bots?

To play with bots though, sv_cheats has to be set to 1. And when sv_cheats is 1, achievements don't unlock. Has to be sv_cheats 0 to unlock them. How to reconcile this impossible situation is the real question.

 

The bots can't attack you. They only stay still so you can killl them. Then they respawn instantly. Then you kill them again.

 

You just have to join a co-operative achievement server, but good luck finding one cause all of them are either password protected, or full.
It took me like 45 minutes to get in a good server, but it was worth it because I got all 3 of the weapons within 30 minutes .

The possibilities are endless. I got the 22 achievements I needed exclusively using bots.

 

Got em all, current setup is the normal flamethrower (love the compressed air) + flare gun + axetinguisher.

Personally I hate the achievements as they force you to overplay a class so much that by the time your done youl be bored to death with the class. It happened with the medic now with the pyro.

Its gonna end up destroying TF2 for me.

I'm just happy I didn't have to play the game to get the achievements, as I don't play the game a lot, just from time to time, so its nice to have all the weapons for when I do play

 

i got all 3 weapons on achievement servers. if you want to find an achievement server just type "achievement" into the map search cuz the map is usually achievement_b3 or somethin.

the new pyro weapons r sick. unfortunately i still dont have ALL of the medic achievements.. i have 34/39 er somethin

 

Ok so i start playing team fortress 2... Pyro! Pyro! Pyro! Pyro! Pyro! This game now sucks! It was fun for about 30 seconds being a sniper and killing them all from a distance but that got really old:\ Thank god there's servers that limit the amount of people playing a class otherwise i'd give up on this game. Valve are killing it.

Release them all together, yes! *BRILLIANT* idea.

No offence but you guys who play on these achievement servers need to get some fresh air

My son has started to play Team Fortress 2, and we're trying to figure out the rules to advance in class.

We've stumbled into these "achievement" servers, or whatever they are called, where people aren't really playing, but simply asking other people to let them kill 'em, so that they can advance.

My question is, where can I go to see what each charector needs to do or accomplish, to move up or gain new weapsons/skills?

From the TF2 main screen just click Achievements. It will show you all of the achievements, but you can sort them by class.

 

Look at the achievements list in the opening menu screen. Then from a drop down box you can select medic or pyro to see all achievements for either class. At the bottom of the lists it will have "milestone1" "milestone2" and "milestone3" each one needs a certain amount of achievements to be unlocked and gains you a new weapon.

Awesome! i thought i needed the steam version to be able to play, since i thought TF2 on the Orange box was a demo

 

Not at all. 5 full games for the price of one You can also download peggle extreme and lost coast from steam with it. Peggle is *very addictive and lost coast has some amazing lighting effects! Worthy downloads imo.

Yeah the Orange Box is a great purchase. However, I've only gotten around to playing TF2 since it is addicting.

 

But they can't "battle" you.

To the people that say achievement servers are lame... would you rather those people tried to farm their achievements in your real games on goldrush, dustbowl, et al? I for one am glad they do them away from the real games, it's the n00bs running around with 8 pyros on a team that are ruining it this weekend.

As for getting the unlockable weapons making the class not fun anymore, this is exactly why I achievement farm. I got all 3 weapons in an hour with bots so I don't get burned out on the class.
