I'm just curious what upcoming games people are excited about between now and the end of the year. I see very little. And by excited, I mean new and different. What I see on my radar is:
Batman Arkham Asylum
Red Faction Guerrilla
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (OpFlash 2)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The Batman game looks decent but for some reason it doesn't excite me all that much. I'm looking forward to Operation Flashpoint 2 though, only hoping it's much more refined than ArmA 2.
The two I'm most excited about are Red Faction Guerrilla and Modern Warfare 2. It seems the console version of Red Faction is getting favorable reviews, and it looks fun. MW2 has huge expectations. I only hope that I'm (and others) aren't disappointed only because the first one was so great. I hate it when a great game comes along and then the standards are raised so high.
It just seems strange come the winter holiday season that there's not more out there.
I don't see Half-Life 2 Episode 3 anywhere on the horizon either. Quite disappointing. At this point they might as well just make "Half-Life 3" and be done with it.

Uncharted 2 and COD: Modern Warfare 2 as you mentioned. And also Tekken 6. I'm an NBA Live addict so i'll be looking out for the next NBA Live series. That usually comes out around November.
Gamespot is a good website for games etc. I haven't visited in a while though, I see some new games coming soon that I never knew about. -

Mass effect 2 in early 2010 and Assassin's Creed 2 this fall.

A couple that already haven't been listed are Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and All Points Bulletin. APB is an action MMO set to come out next year and it's deep customization is what really drew me in. It also looks to sport good realistic style graphics. I've been looking for a good game where I can create a replica of my real self and play in it. I think a closed beta is supposed to start in a couple months but you can register your interest to join on the official site.

Hmm, you might wanna save up your money for the upcoming 2010 (other than MW2). 2010 looks VERY promising, probably will be one of the greatest years for gaming.

I'd say Bioshock 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are probably going to be the biggest upcoming heavyweights.

im interested in alot more, but most of em i want are coming out next year, 2010 looks amazing btw.
though im probably at the end of game buying for the year. i need to save up to get a high end desktop for my gaming needs so i can simply use my laptop for tf2 and school. plus when i get back to buying games most of em will have dropped to 20 bucks. -
Thanks guys. I guess I was kinda looking for between now and end of year. I don't look too far ahead because a lot of those games get pushed even further ahead. Ones that have solid release dates in the next couple of months usually mean they've at least are well into beta.
That aside, 2010 does look like it will be a great PC gaming year! Maybe I will hold off on my new notebook purchase until then and suffer with my HD 3450 in my Lenovo U330 until then. At least it can play Battlefield 2 reasonably well. -
MW2. nuff said. I'm still playing COD4 avidly.

If you like rpgs heres a good one from Germany, releasing Oct 2nd:
Risen
try looking for "risen game" in google and youtube and see if you like it. here in Germany the developers have a huge following - they developed gothic 1, 2 and 3, although 3 is a piece of . the footage suggests that risen is more like gothic 1 and 2, which makes it a very good rpg experience. -
