I just got done playing the Battlefield Heroes beta and I looked at my temps, my CPU was at 196 F and my graphics card was at 210 F........that seems a bit high to me haha. What can be done about this? My temps on this computer have never been that high. Are these temperatures safe? My specs are in my signature! Thanks.

Well ya, but why are my temps so high after playing this game? I played counter strike for like 4 hours straight once and my temps were about 20 degrees under what those were after playing the beta. Does the game just flex the graphics card and processor in a different way? Are these temperatures unsafe?

-Raise the back of the laptop
-If you`re OCing, lay off a bit
-Keep the notebook on a solid surface, not lap or fabric while gaming
-You should consider opening the back panel and cleaning the dust, if the Dell warranty allows you to...

Use a can of compressed air and blow out your laptop's fans. Make sure you laptop is turned off first. A lot of dust builds up and this can cause your laptop to heat up quickly. Also get a notebook cooler like the other members mentioned.

Ya, I cleaned out my fans this morning and cleaned under and around the heatsink. I guess since none of you are shocked that the temperatures are where they are then they aren't completely out of hand.........

its not the fans thats as important as the vents... where the dust is clogged and hides.

get a flashlight and look through the vents, that will give you a better idea of dust clogs.

Did your computer crash, become unstable or take physical damage?
If not, then yes, they are safe.

Wow, I took some compressed air to my vent and HUGE clouds of dust came out! I looked in with a flashlight and couldn't even see my fan blades. Long story short, my temps were at CPU: 140F GPU:170 F. So much more reasonable. Thanks for reminding me to clean the vents guys, it makes a HUGE difference.

    Glad it helped.

OK PEOPLE. You all better clean out your vents so I do not have to keep on Copy-Paste the same thing over and over.
