Just wanting to do a comparison on performance results with Tera. My Sager (i7 2670QM / 6990M) is pumping it out at 30-50 FPS depending on area population and surroundings. In the cities with a lot of players nearby, it drops down into the 20s. I have everything maxed except shadows in which the slider is in the middle and lighting enhancement set to 1 while forcing AA at 2x through RadeonPro. What are you guys getting (list specs as well)?

Augmented are you having any frame rate crashes every 60-90 minutes, lasts like 10-15 seconds. Lowered my settings to medium didn't help. Friend with latest alienware m17x can max it no problem, but he still gets the super lag too.

Can happen anywhere, sometimes i'm near nothing and it will do it.

No, I haven't had any FPS crashes, but have read on En Masse forums that other people are experiencing this as well. Possibly a memory leak? What framerates are you getting with it maxed on your m17x? What hardware is it sporting?

I have a M17x, 2760QM, 16 gig ram, PM830 SSD, 580m. I run it on preset 6 (so maxed out everything) and it runs at locked 60 fps most of the time, dropping down to between 30-60 in cities, big AOE pulls, etc. I have never seen it below 30.

60 fps most of the time, hmmm. Must be poor optimization with ATI cards then. This is the info I have been gathering.

My FPS is 50-70, above 60 on the average. Very rare that I go down to 40s.
The lag that I experienced is not FPS related but from the server side. It affects the loot, chat and skills. And almost everyone in the server noticed it. Its not so frequent though. Maybe my FPS is better because we dont have that much players like the first 2 PVP servers. I'm from BC.

Hey guys what server are you playing?

I play on Dragonfall. After doing more reasearch into the issue, it may be the version of ATI drivers I'm using. I'm going to do a clean install of 12.1 and see if this yields any improvement.

I see. I hope you'll get better result from upgrading the drivers. Your card and mine should perform the same anyway. For the record, I can get as high as 100+ fps playing in Channels 3-4 (less people). Its not a regular thing though, more like a fps spike.

Augmented i'm not the one with the alienware 17x, it's my friends. Runnign a 6870? GPU

Not an ATi specific thing as mine is 560m and runs flawless until the frame rate crash then back to normal for awhile.

BTW, I am also on dragonfall!

My system is a g74sx if that helps.

My issue isn't so much with the framerate drop that I've been hearing about, but rather an overall low framerate compared to what other's are getting with similar hardware. The lowish framerates I've been getting are stable, however.

Did a clean install of 12.1 (from 12.4) and no improvements. :-/
    **EDIT**
Just found this on the Tera 'Answers' section of the official site: " I've just got off of chat with a support person and he stated there are multiple bugs in the game, these include, nvidia video cards, amd processors, UI being bugged, various ati video cards, ect, ect. He said they are aware of these bugs and working to fix them. I then asked about if they knew a realease frame that these updates would be impplemited in and he said that they should be in the next big patch.

I'm getting 50-60fps on mine with the latest drivers. graphics set to auto and I think set on performance mode on ccc since I did some benchmarks last week might've forgotten to put it on quality mode.

    oh Geek on velik :D

I figured it out. Forcing AA through CCC or RadeonPro really taxes the system on this game, which is obvious. I had it set to Application Controlled through CCC, yet RadeonPro had it set to 4x MSAA. While it does look much nicer than the built in AA, it really make the GPU break a sweat and buckle under pressure.
You guys that are getting 50-70 FPS, are you forcing AA or using the ingame setting? Now that mine is turned off, I'm getting 50-60.

The in-game AA isn't bad but the lighting enhancement blurs everything and makes my eyes hurt after a while. But, it's not near as bad as Aion or Rift's. Sadly, U3E and ATI will never play nicely together when it comes to AA. :(
