So, basically all the games I play run perfect on my laptop when plugged in, but when I loaded up World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King on battery power, I maybe get 1-4FPS on battery just on the login screen! My graphics card is even overclocked a bit.

Can anyone help me out? What settings do I need to change up?

Edit: I noticed in RivaTuner that my 8600M GT's clocks (Core, memory, etc) are stuck in 2D mode when on battery and do not clock faster for 3d power. They're at my underclocked settings for 2D and will not bump to 3D! how do I change this?

    Thanks

Vista? if so, you might be able to solve this problem somewhere in the power settings.

Yes, vista. System is in signature. Didn't see any settings under the power settings.

Basically, here's my problem: On battery power, I'm stuck on 2D graphics card settings and speeds - throttled down. How do I overcome this for High Performance mode only? I do sometimes want to play games while on the go.

Are you on High Performance mode under the Power Settings? If you are then is Nvidia Powermizer who's downclocking your card while on battery... You'll need to edit the registry to completely disable it..
    Check this thread about it...

Your battery life will be like 20 minutes if it was at full speed. Heck, it's only 1 hour on mine, playing a game with throttled down graphics.

I've gotten about 1.5 hours or so playing WoW on battery before (before I reformatted because I got a new HDD).

I saw Powermizer. Is it possible to -just- disable it for High Performance mode?

    Thanks!
