Test Drive Unlimited StUtTeRiNg FIX / HELP ?

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR its driving me mental, bought the game and been playing it a couple of days ,and the stuttering is driving me mad, ive been googlinhg "test drive unlimited stuttering" and it seems its a big common problem depening on your hardware

just wondered if many ppl here play it and if by any miracle anyone knew any soloutions ?

doesnt matter if i run it all maxed out or as low as it goes, i getstuttering,sometimes not for ages,sometimes a want to snap the dvd amount,and sometimes every now n then

seems it might be a dual core/nvidea/vista issue maybe ?

its ridiculous that theres a lacl opf help frpm atari judging from the hundereds of forum posts ive seen

You haven't tried searching for the stuttering thread for the 8600 on this forum have you?

Force Vsync on, set one of the features to clamp, enable triple buffering. More advice on the thread I suggested.

but its not an 8600 issue, its a game issue on a number of systems with nvid and ati and dual cores

i have no stuttering problems with other games, just test drive unlimited, i have all the lod clamp,performance mode hdd, v sync, tripple buff, and everything else, run the game maxed out or all low and its still the same

just wondered if anyone plays it on here on any system and knew how to fix it coz its driving me mad

 

Either put it down to shoddy coding requiring a patch or try playing the game after basic hardware maintenance (scandisk and defrags) to see if things improve.
