I'm choosing between two laptops that will go back to their normal price soon. The Gateway one has Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD with a 2.2 GHz processor vs a Lenovo with AMD Raedon HD 7520g with 2.7 - 3.2 processor. On notebook check the 7520g doesn't get a good rating, but on youtube people run games fluently on a HP Pavillion Notebook with the same processor and graphics card and can run BF3 on all low options and it will still be playable. He got 19-30 fps. People say that's extremely bad, but it didn't look bad in the video. Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WmciyYEPM4 Now, for my experience with the Graphics Media Accelerator HD. The reason I even had faith in the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD is because I downloaded a game on my sister's Gateway laptop (the same one I might get) named Arctic Combat. It can't run even on low on my current laptop which uses the AMD Raedon 6250 and runs even worse on auto for some reason but on her laptop it ran completely fine on auto. Adding on to all of this, I won't be playing any graphics crazy games anyway (no plans for that now, anyway). I'm just the type of guy that likes to play computer games, games you can find on Steam for etc.. I play games like Arcticc Combat (on my desktop that isnt currently working) AVA (desktop), TF2 (used to play it on my laptop with slight lag, but it was playable) and I tried to play Blacklight Retribution on my desktop but it had lag even on all low settings, and I don't even want to try it on my current laptop. If any of these graphic cards can play Blacklight Retribution with no lag I will be set for the rest of my life man, I won't need another laptop lol. Please tell me how good these graphics card are and which one is better.

Which Intel CPU is that? I ask because there are major differences in performance of the various Intel HD Graphics depending on which processor it is part of.

Sorry about the error guys.. it was the AMD Radeon HD 7520G. Wish I knew how to edit the title. I should have looked further into this before I made my first two threads.. Not a good first day for me. Lenovo IdeaPad N586 (couldn't find an official link) maybe this will help Review Lenovo IdeaPad N586 Notebook - NotebookCheck.net Reviews

For gaming, 7520G by a long shot. The B960 CPU in the Gateway is a gimped version of the already anemic Intel HD 3000. For the IdeaPad best to make sure you have two sticks of DDR3 1600MHz RAM. 2x2GB or 2x4GB are fine. Just make sure they're DDR3-1600. Not sure what price you're looking at but get something like this Lenovo for $469: Newegg.com - Lenovo G505s (59373006) AMD A-Series 4GB Memory 500GB HDD 15.6" Notebook Windows 8

It will be two to three times the performance of either of those two laptops you're looking at. Just be sure to put another 2GB or 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM module in there for best GPU performance. None of these though will be able to play BF3 multiplayer even on low settings, sorry to say.

edit: or here's an even better deal, $499, 6GB already, A10-5650m with 8560G GPU: www.amazon.com/Lenovo-G505s-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B00CRXZUD0

Thanks a lot, I figured the Lenovo was better. I almost thought these forums would be one of those forums where people just ignore your thread and just read another person's but I eventually got a couple responses :). Just gotta be patient.

I'm staying in a 200 - 300 price range. The Lenovo is $290 on a website named Groupons.com (Great deals, you should check it out). Also, I had no idea what you meant when you said two sticks of DDR3 1600MHz RAM. Is that on a USB? I'm new to this site but I plan to stick around and knowing all this stuff would be great, y'know? I guess the guy was able to play BF3 because that HP Pavilion has a dual graphics card thing. I didn't want to play games like BF3 anyway. I'll stick to the Xbox 360 for that. I just want to make sure I can play average computer games (Team Fortress 2, Blacklight Retribution, AVA, Day-Z Counter Strike, etc games a long the lines of this) and more. Mostly Medium - High graphics games. Not SUPER HIGH like BF3. It doesn't matter to me if I come across a couple games and I have to play them on all low settings. I just want to know that I will not regret buying this laptop to fulfill my gaming needs.

RAM is inside the laptop. If it says it has 4GB RAM it likely only has a single stick of 4GB RAM. You need two to get dual channel and will improve the performance of the 7520G by 25-30%.

    Looks like this:

Thanks a lot. I just might do that. Is that something you do at home or do you get someone to do it for you? Or either one?

You can upgrade the RAM on your own at home... and there are various instructions on how to do it online... however, if you would not feel comfortable changing RAM on your own, then have someone experienced do it for you (perhaps a friend).
But the process is fairly simple: you have to unscrew one of the panels on the bottom side of the laptop (one that covers the RAM) and place the new RAM stick into the second empty slot.
