    Hey all,
I finally received my Laptop on last sunday and thanks to USAFDude, Chazman and everyone else, i'm now a lot more knowledgeable in matters of notebooks.

The configuration is in my signature and i got it for Rs. 1,10,000/ $2450 which is quite a lot in India with regards to notebook prices in India.

The screen is an absolutely delicious samsung with minimal light leakage and no dead pixels and to top it all Dell gave me a clean installation of XP Prof with absolutely no crapware installed. Boy, I was surprised.

Stressed the card with COD2 and Farcry and they both are cheesecake to the 7900GS monster.

    Thanks again everyone !

Nice laptop, and congrats on the purchase! You seem to have the best specs.
1.1 lakhs..........a bit much for a computer, no? I can get a used 2000 Maruti 800 in Chennai for that much, lol. However, all the comps are more expensive in India than in USA, so I guess its understandable.

    Ah yes, ric3rboy91,
but then again, here in bangalore, given the condition of the roads, i think the inspiron is a better option, what say ?

Dunno, never been to Bangalore. Actually given the general road conditions in India, the Inspiron is a better option, lol.
Are you going to carry the i9400 around? I am planning on buying the USA version of it, and was wondering if it was too heavy or anything.

Are you mad ? That thingie weighs about 3.5 Kgs and the labptop bag that came with it will weigh around half a kilo ! That thing is a fortress !
Get it from the US, will be cheaper, though cannot tell you about the service though. In india, I am extremely satisfied with Dell's service, pre-sales and post-sales.

Well yea, 4kgs/9lbs. I guess a)ur not gonna carry that around and b)thats too heavy lol. The laptop I buy will be carried to university everyday.
If I buy it, I will buy from the US store, cause I live in US.

Yea, I am Indian. Not only those who live in India know about Chennai or Bangalore. I have a house in Chennai, and am going to move back there after my studies are over, so in about 10 years. I visit India every so often, about every two years or so, I am from the south (Tamil Nadu) and I only visit places in that state, which is why havent been to Delhi or Bangalore.
I assume that you are Telugu cuz Bangalore is in Andra Pradesh rite?

Nice spec. I'm sure it treats all your games very well :)

Not so friendly on the pocket though....expensive!

    Thanks Havok,
Yeah sure 'tis. But that's all we can get our hands on in india... and other laptops do not offer half of what dell offers here and that too they are prohibitively expensive !!!

Well to be honest, here as well you would pay that price for a similar spec more then likely! (I live in Ireland - big rip off for tech stuff compared to the rest of europe)

At least you have a laptop that will last a long time - whats the point spending half the price on a budget laptop that won't play new games half as good and will need changing every year!

Yeah, actually that's why i bought this configuration in the first place. Though i'm working it was still very difficult to convince my parents for this configuration. They just could not make sense out of why i'm going for so costly a laptop when we get laptops for $800.
And my friends wanted me to buy an SLI desktop instead. Beat that !

Congratulations, and you're welcome. That's actually not that bad of a price for what you got.
