    The Doom 3 engine hates me.

    Doom 3 crashes when I get to the first shotgun guy on my pentium d, on anything with a ati card, it appears in lovely, magical, nothing but white.

    Quake 4 sometimes does the same, runs slow (I mean it's a crappy engine, like oblivion, it runs fine on most of my pcs), and then crashes sometimes when I try to save, and I must reset.

    The only one I can play is the Prey demo...

    Why do you hate me so Doom engine...

    Hrm... I'd recommend trying different set of drivers. I know ATI at one point had some issues with the doom 3 engine a while back, but notn sure if that is related.

    The pentium d uses a nvidia 7600gt :(

    Doom 3 and it's engines just plain hates me :(

    ohhhh ok, i get ya :)

    sorry i can't be anymore help though. thats a weird issue, but sounds like some sort of driver problem. Maybe go back to a previous version?
    I know i've had problems where the newest driver causes problems.

    No I think it's more of a 'Doom 3 sucks, lets thorw it out the window' type of problem ;)

    Doom 3 & 4 runs just fine on my stinky old laptop. Your using a x1900? My other laptop had a 9600\64 which ran Doom 3 around 16-30 FPS, no problems.

    I would look real hard at your video drivers - got Omegas?

    lol, yeah, doom 3 does suck.
    So did quake 4. What a major disapointment from ID.
    At least they have the mod to play part of the original doom on the doom 3 engine. it was quite impressive.

    I don't hold Quake 4 (or Prey) in the same regard.

    At least they have some resemblance of a storyline... And you don't go around holding a flashlight (OMG TEH SCARY!)

    I've tried everything. Both pcs refuse to play it. Tiem to play frisbee with the disks? Ebay time?
